Custom Turbo -- fun and exciting to gather parts and fabricate, rather expensive, LOTS of frustrating downtime, unique, powerful, an ongoing project, rippingly fast compared to stock, have to use 91 octane or better, requires gauges and constant visual monitoring (popped a small oil leak last week from the oil return line) and repairing, negative stress from not knowing how long my motor might last, offset by excitement every time I put my foot in it.

Oh another thing that should be cleared up for those looking to buy is what is needed, I have read through all of echo_hrs threads on his problems and there seems to be some missing parts related to the installation of the blitz kit. If I remember its a few feet of vacuum line, a new bigger belt, and there might of been something else, but I don't remember. Oh the tools required would be nice too, I remember someone saying they picked up a few new tools that helped dramatically.

I've followed the posts from revoturbo and I have never seen him trying to sell anything.

The way I see is: There are a lot of Post here from US members talking about how dificcult, dangerous, expensive... is to go the turbo route on this car.
Revo has only been telling everybody: Hey!"we have been boosting Yaris here for some time now with a great success! We have also been able to control the ECU of the car.

And telling to all the people that always say that there is NO bolt on turbo kit for this car.... thet there is actually one available!!

The fact that the kit might not appeal to people in the US is another story.

I agree with Castrex, it seems the situations are a little different between the US and Indonesia. First of all they are using a Dastek Unichip system with a 5th injector. I remember someone asked Dastek USA if they could do anything for the Yaris, and the answer was no. And going for a 5th injector is a pretty quick and dirty solution, while the overall US tuning "philosophy" is for reliable systems as elegant as possible...

And yes, that ZAGE kit is a mechanical bolt on, problem is, nobody trusts that brand :laugh: Like Garm says, though, instead of saying bad things about it, why doesn't anyone buy one and really give it a try?

I just purchased Goodyear pn 4080660 (8PK1675). The "8" means that it has 8 ribs. If you cut down the middle of 4 ribs, you'll have two identical belts.

I had to buy through Autozone online because they don't carry it in their stores.

BTW the one on my Yaris was a split Duralast 660K8 that we found at Autozone after trying two other auto parts stores.

yeah took it out. got flamed hard core by a guy with a MRs he told me to buy a real car so i told him fine i will but only after i spank you in my car then he called a pos. so we sat and waited til time to go in the mean time i dropped a basemap for 20psi. went out lined up with him rolling start told him first gf said dont lose. so as soon as he had a car length slammed on the gas took of caught up messed with him by slacking throttle floored it and stuck middle finger as i pulled 3 car lengths in front of him. but then the car died blew a hose clamp off some how came loose thank god for air ride id be bitchin right now. um next stop he said damn i didnt think your car was that fast i said why dont you go buy a real car.

then i got props and peepo stopped hatin on the yaris. then downed the boost cause it was putting a killing on my brand new parts. was racing a s2k home and now i think i just spun a bearing so time to tear it all down again and slap the brand new motor in with all the parts but first gotta get new bearings. and o yeah a dyno run maybe to see where im at. but all in all the gf loves it but she keeps telling me that she wants to race my tc i told her theres no way shed win well then again maybe if she just clipped my tail and have me spin then yeah

life lesson number one dont be spoiled like me and destroy all your brand new stuff cause you can get them replaced haha

If anyone ever runs into a leak with there Blitz or has to do any work on there Supercharger and needs the lubricant for the rear of the housing, I have a litre of the factory lube. When I coated the casing I needed to obviously refill it. So I got on the horn with Blitz, found out who made it and called the company up. Problem was they only sell in large amounts (5 gallon tub's) but I was able to talk them into doing up a litre for me.

Pathetic is little of an overstatement. Im only 5 tenths & 4 MPH from LIltoaster & Chinocharles. My clutch is slipping, my 60ft's are 2 tenth off from my all motor run & Im running stock injectors. Also I made my passes on radial tires. What tires were they running? I would also like to see a timeslip from Liltoaster, I have some doubts on his run.

cali yaris i still havent managed to dyno it as it was road tuned.the car is on stock internals and low boost (0.4 bar) so i am not expecting much.

although i have tested the car with my best friend that has a starlet glanza dynoed at 142hp and i was happy with the result as i was 2 cars in frond of him passing the 400m.

as for parmas : the turbo is a greddy tf035hl (mitsubishi manufacturer) but i have tried so much to find some spec of the size of the tubo etc but came to nothing.maybe if you see some pictures will help.

It looks slightly bigger than mine. It is possible to be a T3 size, mine is a T28. I couldn't imagine it to be bigger as I have doubt it would fit in there. By the way, did you hardened the rear engine mounting? ..... as it is highly possible you hit the rear panel with the turbo and there is a chance you crack your exhaust mainfold

Do you know how much diameter in inch is the intecooler piping?


Also noticing the 2nd picture of the engine, it seems like your turbo can be watercooled. Could you tell us why you didn't install the water lines?

^ i dont think that my turbo is so big.maybe in the picture seems to be but in reality i am thinking somewhere about T25.
I also have the stock engine mounts and i have added the wr engine damper that it cant be seen in the picture.i do not have any clearance problems.everything seem to have the right distance.

the intercooler piping is 50mm approximately 1.97 inch.

as for the water lines my turbo model is only oil cooled and the water lines are tapped.i dont know why but Greddy suggested this turbo so there is no problem since this turbo is manufactured to be oil cooled only.

just wanted to update been running the blitz supercharger forabout 10 months now., Which has what i belive to be the on fixed and underdriven pulley set-up on it . Also have a adjustable wastegate welded to the intake plenum to adjust the boost

Idk yet. I haven't tune the car.maybe high 160s low 170s, I was in the mid 140s n/a. Probably going to tune December or January. Going to run Aem fic. Can't wait.

guys, you should really check the specs, no way he could get 200bhp without changing the internals, the oem internals couldn't withstand that kind of boost. You should've seen it on the track, it was so "smokey"

and you should ask him about the turbocharged toyota vios ( 1nz-fe ) that he burnt too :confused:

Several members on here are getting 170 whp from the Zage kit. So 200 bhp is not unreasonable at all. And yes, the internals can withstand 8-10 psi (required for that power).

Did they change internals for the newer 1NZ? I thought the blow point was usually 150+whp. I thought blown_xa went through a couple engines @ 150 whp before building anyways?...I'm always nervous on track days with only 130ish whp haha

Maybe for track use you might want to stay at 150whp. But then again i have been running 210whp for a good while now. As many have said tuning is everything.

I completely agree with the both of you. I just remember reading through all the threads on scionlife/clubxb about build before you boost, and most guys who had blown an engine were dyno'd/tuned at 140-150whp. But now, more and more yaris have 175+ without issues.

That's why I was curious if anyone knew about any change there might have been to the bottom end with the newer models:iono: Either way, i'm jealous of your 210hp :biggrin:

good question though, prob best if one of the toyota techs like "rocklandtoyota" or "ctscott" can compare part numbers..
