Well, it's still not for sure. Toyota hasn't said the U.S. will definitely get it yet.

I stopped in at my Toyota Scion dealer and the IQ has created quite a rumor. I was asked if I was waiting for the Scion IQ to come.

I have to laugh...... car sales are down over 45% and salespeople are asking me if I want a car that has not even come to the USA. Same thing at the Chevy dealer asking me if I am interested in the Volt.

It is a shame that they are "banking" on things not yet available.

because if it flops, toyota won't be fully attached to it..

that's why scion was it's own brand to begin with.. to protect the camry-loving corporation that is TOA

scion went to shit with the 2nd gen xB.. the whole value of first gen xA/B's were their fuel economy. then toyota did what they always do... make everything huge... shame on Rockland toyota.. yet again..

YES SIR, they have. badged as a 2009 scion...........

Show me the proof.

I have yet to see a single news article saying that the U.S. is definitely getting the iQ. It's always "The U.S. may get," or "It's likely the U.S. will get." The closest thing I've seen is Motor Trend saying the U.S. variant may appear a the Los Angeles Auto Show. We'll see.

And I doubt it'll come over as a 2009, since the 2009s are already appearing. If it does come over, I'd bet it'd be a 2010 at the earliest.

If I'm not mistaken, a set 2010 model is typically released 2009 no?

This is true. Perhaps we'll see the 2010 in 2009.

Having seen Toyota kill some great cars such as the MR2, Celica, Supra...it would seem Scion is the young and fun company while Toyota has become the Medicare Division.

every company does this. They leek to the press and get a buzz going before the big unveiling which in this case will come shortly in November at the LA Auto Show.

"We’ll have more details as they become available around L.A. auto show time, but you heard it here first: Toyota is going to get Smart by giving iQ to Scion and America."

December's Car and Driver has a small article on the iQ but does not mention that it will be badged as a Scion.

There was one out in the Hamptons a couple weeks ago (brought over from Europe [Toyota]) when Top Gear was doing photo shoots. A friend of mine who used to have a bad ass Evo drove it around. When I got out there, I met the guys from Top Gear and saw a few cars. Unfortunately the iQ wasn't around. Only the new Galardo and new VW Cirraco(sp).

Galardo almost backed into my Yaris by a couple of inches. Should have had them hit it and then said, "OK, now give me the keys to the iQ."

Honestly, I like them and would get one just to tell people who see me in my Yaris, "You think this is small, you should see my other car." Then you can get away with telling the ladies, "Big things come in small packages!" <--- corny, yeah I know.
