Was ordering a TRD sport exhaust and TRD springs the other day when I figured out that shipping will cost me 420$...a little less than what the 2 items would cost me together. Seems like I'll be driving stock for a long long time. This comes after I figured out that the intake mani won't work on my Yaris.

Just thought I'd share my misery with you all

Where were you planning to have the items shipped from? USA?
There must be Toyota dealers in the middle-east who can source TRD.

You have to look around... I'm sure you can find better than that.

If you are quoting a direct air (Fedex/UPS) shipment then you are looking for a big charge like the one you described.

Try asking around, look for big importers from the US. Companies will usually use a shipping consolidator. Some one in a US port that consolidates cargo from different people and then ships one consolidated container usually by sea.

Transit time will be much longer but you can save a lot of money that way.:w00t:

Well the site I ordered from was actually trdsparks.com

I have tried similar sites but I always get the same fee, usually amounting to the price of the item itself.

I know what you mean castrex, but I'm having some problems locating a site as such hehe.

If you quote the shipping from a US store they will use Fedex/UPS/USPS and charge a lot to you.

You need a 2 step shiping.

1st ship from the store to the consolidator.

2nd Intl shipping from the US port to your country.

Hell for that price it might be cheaper to pay dealership market up and get the instant gratification.

Edit: Unless of coarse these parts aren't offered in your country.

I could get them from TRD Sparks, then pass them on to you at a GREATLY reduced shipping rate. PM me if you're interested in having me do that for you.

Excellent, I'll take a look at that later on tonight. Seems like the last ship from NY to Beirut left already, wait for a new one to sail.

That would be great actually

I'll send you a PM when I'm off Uni.

Just a sugestion...

If you are ordering from Cali, why don't you consider Tanabe instead of TRD for both the exhaust and springs...

Tanabe NF are comparable to the TRD in regards to the drop. And Tanabe has a couple of nice exhaust options for the car as well.:w00t: And should be cheaper than TRD.

Am checking it out now. This brings up another question I had earlier. Would it be advised not to get the springs before I figured out what sort of wheels I'm getting first? And is it necessary to get shocks as well?

CASTREX

Unless you are planning on doing some motorsports, upgraded shocks are not really needed.

If you check around here 90% of the people with lowering springs are running on stock shocks with out a problem.
Tanabe NF's are not that low and are designed to be used with the original shocks.

Regarding the wheels, unless you are planning to get something crazy you should be fine with those springs. Since the drop is small you will have a wide option of wheels.
Take a look at the wheel and tire section for more info.

The tire size will be more critical than the wheel itself. If you stick with the recomended Tire/wheel sizes you won't have a problem

Aye, been reading the wheels section all day everyday hehe. Good thing is that I can get wheels and rims from where I live, plenty of options. Yeh Tanabes lower by 1.5" apparently, I'll stick to those. And I will most probably be getting 16's because the roads here are pretty rough, dont think 17's would be a good idea.
