thanks.. i had the plexi from an old band pass box.. burned out a dremel tool cutting it .. had to return it to home depot and get another one lol.. but after an hour or so of slowly cutting I'm pretty happy with it.

I think I am going to Tint the rough edges of the cut to draw the attention away and allow the light to stay in the plexi better.. should be sweet. I'll post another pic when its 100% finished and bumpin

looks cool, have a coupla questions :):
1.what did you cut hte plexi with? looks a bit rough, i assume its not from a router template? should get a router to cut it would be a lot cleaner, for example.

2. is that a bandpass box? its hard to tell...obviously if its a bandpass box and if you cut the plexi it would be a bit werid...but then again, part of it doesnt look like a bandpass box :) the jl logo threw me off hehe..
3. where are the leds? i think the idea is really neat if oyu can biuld the box so the outter edge can be fully lined up with leds ,you can a very nice smooth glow across the toyota logo.

1. A dremel tool with the multi cutting bit. I printed out the toyota emblem then taped it to the underside of the plexi and went at it. I plan to possibly paint the edges or maybe take a barrel sander bit to them.. thats probably more likely and smooth them out :)
2. its a sealed box. the plexi is acting as a grill to protect it

the paper taped to the bottom kept filling with shavings or just seperating from the plexi as i was cutting .. so its not perfect... but it does the trick. smoothing the sides out is something i plan on doing :)

the plexi was from a bandpass box.. the box turned into a custom sealed huge home sub box (back probably 4-5 years ago ) and the plexi i kept for no reason.. but i found it the other day at my parents house when i was visiting and figured i'd like to use it for something

the key to cutting acrylic is a slow rotation (RPM tool)...Stuff is a pain in the butt if you use high speed tools.
Oh yeah... Here's my "tide me over until i really get around to doing car audio" install.
Stock fronts, no rears, stock deck, Two Tangband 740C 8's running 80watts each off a US Acoustics 2080 amp.
Sub box is 1.2cuft tune to 28hz.
Nothing special... just looking for the easiest way to blend in some low end. Simple and effective.

hey!!! that's a nice box you guys have, and just for FYI, I have a ROUTER, I CAN route any shape/logo/letter/form you guys want, I'll upload a pic of the door sill that I made out of plexi, I run a Sign Shop so it's easy, just tell me what you're looking for for I can make it...
