I think I can top all of you. I'm a metalhead and I have The Partridge Families Greatest Hits cd. I like Ace of Base, Hanson, Neil Diamond(how can you not?) and I still liked Milli Vinilli's music even though they were a fake band put together by the record company, the music itself is still good. I still love all the 80's New Wave and hair metal bands. To each his own, but good music is good music. If it makes you happy that's all that matters...

Most of the stuff that I like best is guitar-oriented, louder-is-better (not 'metal', though--see avatar), but I have a soft spot for '70's soul, too: Spinners, Chi-Lites, Dramatics. I don't know what it is, exactly, but when I hear something like "Have You Seen Her" or "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love" I dunno, they're just cool as hell to me.

Don't worry about what you listen(ed) to, it's part of what makes you who you are. I've always hated when people thought that they couldn't listen to something because it's not "cool" anymore. As long as you don't still wear acid washed jeans or parachute pants or have a Members Only jacket, I think you're alright.lol.

What I meant was at 42 years old I have vinyl albums, 45s, cassettes, and even some 8 tracks older than a lot of people on here. What's funny to me is when someone says what year they were born in, I think about what albums or bands were out that year and it just makes me feel old. But it's pretty common to like stuff that was out even before you were born.

Nice!
The Audio World is a funny place. In this day and age of MP3s, some of us are going back to older electronics, even tube amps to get full quality sound. I replaced my superwhack "concert-quality" speakers with an old set of speakers (14",5", and 2"), and there was a big difference in sound, MUCH better. Can't say why...

Rent is actually not as bad as its reputation, its just underwritten cause the guy who wrote it died right after the first performance. I like "Take me or leave me" a lot, too.

I know he did the "Miami Vice" music for the tv show back in the 80's, he's from Sweaden I believe and his name is pronounced Yon Hommer, and he played his keyboards to sound like guitars but what I liked was the album he did with Neil Schon, the guitarist for Journey, don't remember the name of the album but the cover looked like a "Arm and Hammer Baking Soda" box and I loved the song "No more lies", still have it on my MP3 player...That feels so weird to be called old.lol:headbang:
