When I am driving in reverse and then I step on the brake, the car makes one knocking/clicking noise. What could it be? axle? suspension?
Please help

could be many things... the body, the door hinges, the brakes, the udnerbody panels... etc.... look carefully to try to locate the source, or ask someone to back up for you while you look and listen (out of the way).

Yep - sounds like the brakes - more specifically the auto-adjusters.

Are the brakes under warranty?

it's normal after a while that rear brakes make noise when you are going in reverse.
try rubbing a mop stick on a block of wax for a while. then go in the other direction after. the same effect happen to drum brakes.

Do our Yaris have auto-adjusing brakes? I hope so....and if so when do they adjust? During braking in reverse? This is my first Toyota...all my Hondas had auto-adjusting....

Check everything with a pry bar, ball joints, tie rods, subframe bolts (most likely), if all nice and tight, crank up the volume:biggrin:

I had a clicking sound occur when I am reversing. I had it checked by the dealer and they found some heat shield plates underneath to be loose and now the noise is gone.
