View Full Version : SHELL : Full Synthetic 5w-30 motor oil : $4.17 a qt. @
BJs Wholesale , comes in 6 quart case for $24.99 + tax , here's a very good U.O.A ( used Oil Analysis ) for a '05 SCION XB ( 1.5 ltr. ) that's basically the same engine as YARIS , www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1136412&fpart=1 , if changing out at or little less than 5,000 mile interval ( warranty ) the SHELL Full Synthetic 5w-30 should perform better , may put this in the '08 sedan in exchange of the PENNZOIL Platinum 5w-20 for next oil change that's due soon .

Hey, if you can get it on discount, and it's synthetic and rated SM, I say go for it and be perfectly protected.
here's another good Used Oil Analysis for SHELL Full Synthetic , only difference is that it's MOTOMASTER from CANADA which is SHELL in disguise . The other difference is it's a 5w-20 ( not 5w-30 ) and is from a FORD pickup . Here's the U.O.A. , www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=923371#Post923371 .

Wondering the commonality between Shell brand Synthetic and Pennziol Platinum . Wonder same an bout Exxon mineral Sm and Mobil clean 5000 Sm?
Do the spec sheets look similar/same?

the U.O.A.s look somewhat alike at www.bobistheoilguy.com under Used Oil Analysises - Gas Engines . You could go there and compare if you have the time . Better yet , give PENNZOIL and SHELL techs a call using their toll free phone line listed at their websites .
