Dome light dimm

I am experiencing a problem with my dome light not coming on half the time now when I open the door. The car has 63,000 miles on it. When I open the door sometimes it comes on and sometimes it dont. Could this be the bulb going out or could it be the dimming mechanism that is tied to the door, or could it be the switch telling it to fade in and turning on going bad?? Thoughts???

You can try to switch the bulb, and if it happens again, it may be something else.

it could you be your door switch. try opening another door when it doesn't come on.
