Hi I want to put the VVT-i emblems on my HB's fenders just wanted to know where do they exactly go. I saw some random pics around of users but can't find them, can someone help me with pics? Also would they look nice on the SD also? I really love that red i

You need to ask one of our Australian members. Although they are VVT-i fender stickers down under, they can give you a good idea about proper placement.

Australian Yaris' dont have such "VVT-i" badges on our fenders. We have either "VVT-i" or "1.5 VVT-i" stickers under the signal lights. In my opinion, the "VVT-i" badges will look better in the position of where you see "D4-D" badges on the European Yaris. You can see what I mean in the picture sub-forum.

That's exactly what I meant. =)
I think it looks better than having it underneath the side markers. =)

Are those placements official locations from factory?

Also, is the "I" in VVT-I supposed to be RED?

I don't think I've ever seen them without the red "i"....and as far as factory placement...not sure about that either. I think some previous member had them where I put them and said that's where they are put for the cars that stay in Japan...but don't quote me.

me either i dont think i havent seen them without the red but i like the placement where the d-4d is that looks cool like that not unless someone can find a picture from japan with them on

it always makes me smile...I think of how much work I put into debadging every car I get and then see people asking where to stick extra stuff on their cars. before I get flamed not saying anything bad about, just pointing out the differances in taste :)

personally I would say my opinion would be to stuff it under the turn signal cause it looks out of place off center, so I would stick it over by the factory location for the badge.

with that said, thank you ever so much for not sticking a Vtec badge on your car.

We have the VVT-I badges here in Australia with and without the Red I's. We have the red 'I' ones on the Hi-Ace vans. The normal silver 'I' ones are on our new Corolla (Auris elsewhere), Tarago, Rav and a few other vehicles here in Australia.

I put them directly below the side markers. I think they look better there than off to the side.

Never saw a Vitz in Japan with VVT-i emblems (or stickers) on the fenders.

It doesn't even seem like they have side markers. =(

True I used to debadge also but that VVT-i is nice also around here most of the hondas v-tec are decals so I'll rub in the emblem. Also factory location is the way to go!
Also have you seen a HRD decal cuase I have LOL HONDA RACING DEVELOPMENT! and american cars with Japanesse letters, Believe me people do that.

It would look nice to be centered but might take off the effect of factory placement altough we don't know where it actually goes!?

I debadged everything else..and painted the T's black...

but I like the VVT-I...makes people wonder.

So we still have no "official" factory placement of the VVT-i emblem on the side of a Yaris?

It doesn't seem so...lol

The pics I see show it under the turn signal. I am not sure if the picture is of someone's custom car, or the factory default. :iono:

Here's a picture from a auto review site.
Clearly, the logo is under the turn signal (and in the "i" is in SILVER).

Well, Australian Yaris' do, but they're not the VVT-i badges, they're the 'VVT-i' stickers (for the 1.3L Yaris) or '1.5 VVT-i' (if you have the 1.5L Yaris) under the side marker.

Meteorite_Marty

Not sure if you'd even "see" a sticker on a meteorite metallic paint like mine. The sticker looks silver, almost like the color of my car.

spookz
11-06-2008, 07:25 PM
Yeah the silver of the stickers are a shade darker then the silver found on the Yaris.

I'm going with the D4D look! and for the SD also

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I was browsing the Taiwan Toyota site, and they have the 'VVT-i' badges off the side of the markers (where D4-D badges are) on the Yaris. So I'm going to say that this is the official placement for the badges, where as stickers go under the side markers.

Hi thanks actually I still haven't sticked them so I got 4 emblems laying around waiting for placement D4-D is nice, It's similar to where the HYBRID goes in the Camry so more likely Toyota seems to like it there but under the side marker also is nice UFF! What do I do now??

I did mine in Genuine Toyota VVT-i all chrome decals (no red "i" in the VVT-i), and I placed it where Bengolf2 has it, directly under the turn sginals. It looks awesome.

One recommendation when placing the decals; remove the side markers and there beneath them on the body of the car is 2 dots indicating the vertial center line of the turn signal. You can then use some painter's tape to tape downwards through the 2 dots, and then horizontally across to get a 90 degree line with the vertical axis. You can also line up the the center of each individual decal to the taped vertical centre line. The center of the decal occurs on righthand portion of the second "V", a few millimetres from the join with the "T".

None as far as I've seen so far... and here's where I put mine:
