Okay so I dont want to go all crazy. I just want something that sounds pretty good without breaking the bank. I spent 60 bucks on some component spearkers for the front. 6.5 subs in the doors and some tweets. For what i spent they sound 100 times better than the factory speakers. But the subs dont have enough power for them to sound good when the volume is turned more than 40 percent.
Would i get better results just using a amp to my factory deck. Or just changing out the factory deck to something aftermarket with more power.
Since the cost of both is pretty much the same. Keeping in mind i have a intergrated stereo. So i kinda would like to keep it factory and just run a amp.

change the hu first as thats going to create a good base and sounds better then the stock. then if need to add an amp but after you change the hu you prolly be satisfied as the stock hu doesnt supply enough watts like an aftermarket hu would sound quality is so much better with an aftermarket hu then just adding the amp to the factory radio i did the same route you thinking of but once i put a hu in it sounded so much better

well, very rarely will popping a amp on improve sound quality, cause its still amplifying the source....its only as good as the signal it recives.
this is even more true when you are going "cheap" and dont want to spend money.
what I would suggest, either buy a aftermarket deck, or buy a cheap amplified subwoofer tube and a line converter if it doesnt have one.
either get a deck that can drive the speakers, or get a small powered subwoofer if you want bass. almost everything else will be wasted money or not as good of a solution. expect to spend around 150 bucks or to be disappointed.

After I upgraded my speakers I noticed a little difference but was slightly disappointed. Adding a new head unit with enough output to really power them it was a huge difference, so much so I doubt I'll end up throwing down the money to get an amp or sub. Try a HU first, the stock one sucks anyway.

I dont want to end up putting in a subwoofer. Actually the subs in my door panels are pretty decent when the volume is low. Sounds almost as good as my acura with 2 12s . Except when the volume is turned up there is a obviouse difference.
I plan to put 6x9s in the back maybe 2 ways. To help balance things out.
I think i may end up putting ina double din deck for the front. And have to buy a new bezel since i have intergrated cd player.
Anyone happen to know th epart number or where i can buy that silver bezel that is on the base model yaris that has the non intergrated cd player
And also what are some good high power low cost double din decks.
I am willing to spend up to 300. minus install
Any money i save can go to get higher quality rear speakers

ok, without a sub, a deck is the best way to get better over all sound and bass for the price.
honestly, i would get or build a nice adapter plate and run a single din size. you will end up with a much better deck for your money. but, thats just my own personal opinion.

why are you going to save up for high quality rear speakers when you sit in the front? you should put more money in the front since thats your soundstage.

Does this look pretty good?
Also i have a intergrated dash unit. Anyone know the part number or the best place to get the bezel i need for aftermarket install.

save up $300 buy a deck for around $100-150 and then an small 2 channel amp for $100, and then the $50 left will be for all the install costs (wires, cables, fuses).
Just upgrading the deck... or just adding an amp MIGHT work fine... but it most likely won't give you nearly as good as sound as you'd get from both a new deck & amp.
With that said... I ran dual 8" subs off an amp and ran the front stock speakers off the stock radio and got decent sound. Had to tweak with the system a while before it started to sound right though. Ran that setup for about 3 months... had to take it out for thanksgiving, doubt it will go back in.

One time a car came into my auto shop for a check engine light. We were checking out the system on it. It was a ford expidition or one of those big suvs. It had tweeters mounted above the seatbelts on the sides. SO that you had screaming highs 2 inches from your ears. ANd then 2 more tweeters on the doors. Also 2 12 inch subs and some amps and 2 capacitors. What really got me was the deck was the factory deck. System sounded like crap to me.
When we pulled the engine codes it had 10. I was like wtf. ANd none of them were really related. SO i followed all the diagnostic flow charts and it said everything i tested was okay. Only thing left could be the electrical harness to the sensors. So i assumed the dumbasses who did this install may have taped into the wrong power source. Well turns out the main fuse that was screwed into this plastic cover on the firewall near the battery. Was the plastic cover for the main wiring harness to the computer. ANd the screws went in and pierced all the wiring. We repaired them and cleared the codes and they immediately came back on. So looks like the computer was damaged. The thing that got me is later on he said he was driving the car with the engine light for a year. ANd the light came on right after the stereo was installed too. I wish he told me this in the very begining.
