Has anyone sat in a Yari with Power Windows and does the extra gear detract from your side knee room much? I have an Echo with manual windows and I find it gives me more legroom than I find in the Scion with Power Windows?

Well, Echo and Scion are different cars, you cannot compare the two for leg room by that. From my experience, the door panel is the same for w/ P/W and w/o.

why?

While the Echo and Scion are different cars above, the are very similar underneath.

However the Yaris is completely different underneath and above then both of them.

well the yaris is longer, wider and taller than the echo it precedes. so it has a bigger cabin room than before. that said, go to a dealer and try it out yourself.

FYI, I have powered windows and I do not feel any lack of side knee room. The electric gears do not seem to make their presence obvious.

There is no problem in leg room. I drove a Yaris without power windows for about 2 weeks, and never noticed a difference when I got my car with power everything.

As I mention, the door panel should be the same for power and non powered version. They won't invest $500K just to get a die to make door panel for the non-power window version. They'll make sure the non power-window and the power window both fit to the same place!

I just sat in a new US Yaris with power windows after buying one without it. I am so glad that I did. The power window unit sticks out about 3 inches and greatly reduces the lateral leg room IMHO. In the non power version there is actually an indentation into the door frame to give you extra room.

Interesting! In this case, may be a picture is worth a thousand words:wink:.

IMO, the power window version should actually have more room, but they'll probably be very close to the same space (with the exception of the Handle)
