i recently purchased a in dash dvd player. It has GPS capability.. it says in the manual to insert the 2gb SD card with installed GPS software to use the gps functionality.
Does anyone have a SD card with NAV software they could clone for me .. maybe put it on a dvd and send it over so i could try it :)
the unit i have is a SA7020G
chinese made

gps software from where? is there a specific chinese brand software needed?
its difficult to believe that a garmin...tomtom...etc software would just...work.
ya know?

Hehe, that's what you get for buying a cheap, no-name branded unit. j/k
Have you tried eBay? AFAIK, you can't use just any GPS / mapping software with these types of head units. Antennas though are usually universal, using some type of mini-coax connector.

yeah it uses a universal antenna.. cheap enough ..
i found some files it mentions in the setup in the manual
storagecard.exe
time_screencapture.exe
its windows based.. im guessing... lol which wont make things easy.. i run all macs in my house

my roommate has a in dash gps and he has two cd's for the East and West of the USA. It's made by Pioneer, if you find out that those are files you can use I have no problem writing them to a couple of discs for you.

My windows mobile cellphone uses gps software that I bought on an SD card. It might work. I'd clone it for you, but the key and everything else is hardwired to the card in order to prevent piracy, and sorry but there ain't no way I'm giving you that expensive thing for free lol. I don't use it anymore tho, so I'd be willing to part with it for a fair price if you're interested. Best bet for you would be to find out what kind of OS the receiver is working on.
Here's a link to the software I got it's much cheaper than it used to be:

okay.
I just talked to the tech support at Geeks.com..
here is what they said.
1. buy the universal GPS antenna
2. Go to toyota and get the real speed sensor information ... not sure what that is.. anyone have that information?
3. get a PDA that has GPS software and load it in the HU .. so he said that WinCE software should work fine :)
he said it works great too they install them in alot of vehicles and it works great.
so i guess any windows based gps for a palm or pda should work :)
Paidtimeoff.. what do you want for the card?
looks like the 2gb one is only 64 new.. i might be able to get some funds together.. maybe do some cash and a couple yaris world t-shirts :)
lmk!
so anyone with the real speed info.. that the guy was talking about .. shed some light on it for me :)
