Why would why industries (i know, it sounds funny) design a turbo manifold but no supporting products to correspond with it?
Was there a kit that was pulled from their site?
Has anyone heard of these guys, or their quality?

Go to scionlife.com
Do a search for TURBOTOYOTAS. Thats their name. The owner is a guy named Todd.
You will find a lot of information... anything from horror stories, of people who waited a year for their parts to be delivered to people who praise them for the quality of their products.
About that manifold, Garm (Cali Yaris) has one installed on his car.
I believe they tried to come up with a full kit for the yaris but the parts they offered had all kinds of fitting problems.

But the manifold is good?

yes, the mani is good, pretty much the only good part out of the kit they had. Todd has since stopped making kits, and offers individual parts instead.

Thanks cali.
You know, coming from the suby community, i have been contemplating a twin-scroll turbo option. I'd love to get your takes on this! thanks.
Oh crap, yes i meant for the yaris.

Here is another option. This manifold should work for the Yaris
http://www.365motorwerks.com/turbomanifolds.aspx
Is the 365 MW manifold for their new scion xb kit. Looks really nice.
This guy used to be member of the forum, haven{t seen him for a long time now.

so if you get a turbo kit for an xb what will not work if the manifold does?

PLEASE BUY IT and find out for us.
I bet the downpipe wouldn't be the same, probably throttle body, ECU/tuning, piping for sure...

i would be glad to..maybe by xmas time. BUT i have emissions here, how would i remap the ecu for it? how did you do yours cali? as far as the throttle body goes you can get that blitz unit and im sure you would be fine. its the ecu AND the heat issues that im concerned with. how is the heat buildup in your bay caliyaris?
cali yaris

not too bad on the heat, vented hood is recommended
No one has remapped our ECU yet. Matter of fact, I think the car has only been successfully tuned in other countries!
At least in CA, adding a turbo kit would make you illegal for smog from both visual and emissions standpoint.

how did you tune yours?

and it runs kinda correctly? lol

Efficiently and correctly are two opposite sides of the spectrum atm.

Yeah, it could run way better if it was tuned. We just need to find someone who is eager enough to do it... Look at the GTR "the uncrackable cpu" boom... 2 days later its cracked...

mine runs great, but goes lean at WOT over 5k rpm. OK for the street, but not good enough for the track. That's why we're going to standalone management.
I now know of three people who have had issues with the AEM FI-C not working out on our cars -- weird!!

I know basically what lean/rich means. When you say it runs lean over 5k...dos that mean you have to let off/shift before thats...or is there just a drop in boost? :iono:
Nexus1155

then you don't know what it means lol... lean means AFR goes well over 12 or stoich in this situation where turbo makes best power around 11.* area
cali yaris

lean means not enough fuel to have a good mixture = danger of detonation, frying a valve, etc.

eh hem, this is good and helps people out when starting to tune....

could you swap to a scion ECU?

i meant i know what lean meant as in its too lean of an air/fuel mixture. I was trying to find out what he meant by his car being streetable over 5k......do you mean you couldn't track it/push it to the limit frequently?

should basically any decent exhaust/muffler shop be able to make a suitable downpipe?

Yes and no...it's easy enough if they know what they are doing but to get a great job done you need to go to somebody who has done it a few times! Remember how nice a job Yimi (I think that's right?) did for Cali Yaris on his DP.

YimiSport did a GREAT job on wiring, set up and the entire exhaust system.
