Someone in the "new Yaris" forum responded yes to this, but I'd like more detailed info; you CAN plug just a regular cassette tape or CD Walkman type player into this jack (I'll never own anything more advanced; clueless)???
How, and with what kind of cable, and does the sound come from speakers?
I'm just a radio girl... Heck, I didn't even really want a radio, but the car came with it...:iono:

Pick your length :)
That is the type of cable you need. Sound would come from the speakers. This cable takes place of your headphones.

seehuge posted the exact same cable I bought, it works great, and yes, the sound comes from the speakers, and you just control the tracks from the cassette player. I don't know if there's much of a point of plugging in a CD walkman if you have a CD player within the radio though.

Oh, d'oh... I told you I was techno-stupid, LOL... Good to know about the tapes, though...
Now, does anyone know of a recording device with a timer so I can record my NPR shows when I'm not home so I can PLAY them in my new Yaris???

Try getting an iPod or a Zune, then you can download podcasts and listen to them in your Yaris. I listen to CarTalk all the time...and download a Blues show from Kansas City and another from here in Texas, plus a load of other podcasts with different kinds of music. I also have all the music I've downloaded over the years (almost 7000 files). It's much easier than hauling CDs around!

I sometimes plug a cassette walkman through mine because I still own a lot of cassettes that are not available on cd or mp3 anywhere. Sound quality is not as good or as loud but it works.:headbang:
