HEY Everyone!

Back in the spring I started a dialog with the great folks at NST. I wanted a little more power out of the 3RZ engine in the Drift Yaris and they agreed to build some prototype pulleys! Aside from the custom intake and headers, this seemed like a good logical modification. I want to keep the car normally aspirated and didn't want to crack into the internals just yet. Therefore bolt-on externals seemed logical, and I already have the basics (I/H/E).

They made the process fairly simple and in a few short weeks after they moved into their new and improved facility we were in business. I had a brand new set of pulleys on my door step.

The installation went virtually painlessly. The Yaris has a very open engine bay and being that I’ve had this thing together and apart so many times it made it very easy to get in there and install these new parts in a mere 30 minutes. The full installation is viewable on my Drift Yaris Blog or Flickr.

After installing the pulleys the results are clear. The car starts and idles more smoothly. Upon acceleration the throttle response is quicker. The car picks up and goes much much nicer than it had before. There had been a small bogging out upon first starting out, but this seems to have gone away now.

Overall the experience has been very pleasant. The people of NST have worked well with me through my crazy life the last few months and I look forward to bringing the car out in the spring time for some test n’ tunes.

Patience is a virtue :), all in good time. Times are tough right now; progress, videos and drifting debuts will all happen when things permit.

True, but just not a very common virtue here in YarisWorld...

The motor needs a manifold and long-tube header(s).

Has an equal length header, but a manifold would be nice. So would would a built head with high lift cams and over sized valves... but all those things take money and/or time. I'm open to offers for either:thanks:

Rides will be coming this spring. Waiting for an open SCCA day at Bremerton Raceway.

I've been on the boards for a while, just don't post very often. There is the blog on http://www.mospeed.com/yaris/ that has most of the scoop on the car. Not sure what else you want to know but you're always welcome to hit me up on AIM: thefoth71

I have a new graphics scheme for it that I'd like to have done by spring, maybe you'll like that better, maybe not... though I think it looks pretty good now I know it can look better.

Huge engine, little engine bay, though I'm sure there's room for more engine in there, I don't think the car needs much more power or it will become undrivable and out of balance. The new slant mounted oversized radiator does fill up the engine bay much nicer. I can't wait to get back to Vancouver this year, love it up there.
