Guys, I heard from one of my friend (who work for Toyota) say: Car do not need to warm it up before you take off..

Is this true? I think he is bullshitting isn't he?

Your engine will warm up faster while you're driving. Just don't go reving the piss out of it while the 'cool' light is on.

Nope, they don't need to warm up. Just start it, let it run for say, 15 seconds for the oil to circulate, and take off gently. Just don't mash on it until the cool light turns off.

Hmm... still need to warm it up for roughly 15 seconds and take off gently..

Anyway.. what did you mean by (Just don't mash on it until the cool light turns off).

Not good for my car If I warm up my car until the cool light turns off ???

By "mash" I mean stomping on the gas peddle. Warming up by idling is not good. It increases the amount of time it takes for the engine to warm up, which in turn, may cause some damage (I don't think it will, but better safe than sorry).

and wastes fuel!

Look in your car's manual, if it is like the US one, that is what they recommend, just drive gently until the "cool" light turns off...

Under 45 fahrenheit I give the car about thirty seconds. This is for the sake of the AT and not the motor. After that, since I have a Scanguage and pay attention to indicators, it's takin' it easy until the temps crest 140 fahrenheit.
