FFS, if she's up for it, and you're up for it, what does it matter? My uncle and aunt are 11 years apart, and his son (that would be my cousin) is 11 years YOUNGER than his wife. They both have very happy marriages, OK - wierd family - I know

Love knows no numbers.
OK, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Let me rephrase that then...hit it while it's hot dude.

I have to say it all depends on your personalities. I've met 22-yr-olds that acted like they are 12, and others that were quite mature for their age.
And myself, I've always acted younger than my age. Still now, folks believe I am in my mid-30s, where I am actually 45.
But I think you answered your own question when you said she's cool and drives a Yaris. If you are attracted to her, then by all means ask her out. She's already proven she has good taste (she does drive a Yaris) and it makes for a good lead-in conversation topic.
By the way, my wife is six years younger than I am, and my parents where ten years apart. Eight years is not that much, really...
Cheers! M2

If you get on well than have some fun and see one another. Time will tell if the age gap even matters. I'm eight years and eight months older than my wife.

8 years difference would be catastrophic if you were 22 yourself
But as you get older, it's not such a big deal right, you're both consenting adults and at least you have one thing in common for sure already
Make sure she logs in here too!

Right, I am 8 years older than my husband. Yes I know that's backwards and luckily I look young for my age.
I say it's more a matter of maturity and personality. Go out a couple of times and see how it goes.

8 years is not a huge age difference... but (no offense to the younger folks of the forum), legal limits of 18 and 21 aside... I question whether most people truly reach "adulthood" before the age of 25.
The weird part comes in the fact that you work with her. That can get awkward in a hurry, especially if the relationship turns sour.

+1
when your both over 21 the age spread doesnt really matter.. its maturity levels that tend to make a difference..
if she all like you know ROFL,, texting every two min wanting to go to the mall with her girlfriends.. OMG did you see that guy at the mall.. he was so like...
lol that will get annoying but if she's a cool girl give it a shot!

I'd have to agree...age is NOT the issue.
I couldn't date anyone from work...even if it wasn't frowned upon.

When I met my wife, she was 15 years my junior. Fortunately, she still IS 15 years younger than I today. :laughabove:
Go for it! Your maturity will help see through your relationship.

My wife is 8 years younger than me, but we are, let's say, past our prime. In my bad old days, I got around a bit, and spent time with women 8 years younger, 12 years older, and lots in between. We all learned a lot, mostly that age is unimportant. Parallel interests, yes; equal maturity, sure, age, no.
Just be careful: a relationship can prove to be the most expensive gamble you will ever make!

As children, 8 years is a huge age difference, but as adults, it's really insignificant.

The age difference isn't the issue, like Loren said it's the work issue. Never fish off the company pier!
Anchorman....a favorite movie! Didn't Veronica Corningstone beat Ron Burgundy with a tv antenna and tell him he had bad hair, all in the office and in front of co-workers? LMAO!

A conversation you might have to look forward to in the future:
Veronica Corningstone: I will have you know that I have more talent and more intelligence in my little finger than you do in your entire body, sir.
Ron Burgundy: You are a smelly pirate hooker.
Veronica Corningstone: You look like a blueberry.
Ron Burgundy: Why don't you go back to your home on Whore Island?
gj SuperFunBall lol
Some people here might think these guys like robbing cradles... I like to think their women like robbing graves :p

Before getting married I got involved with men 7-10 years older than me, age wasn't a problem, I was mature enough. But like others have mentioned, dating someone you work with could get messy or uncomfortable if things don't work out, it's up to you if you decide to give it a shot.
