View Full Version : Liftback - Cargo Net

Just received a cargo net for my liftback that I won on eBay.
Brand new, $20 delivered.
I just went out to put it in and realize that there is NO place to hook it or am I missing something here?
Just took for granted that there would be a couple small hooks on the inside to fasten a cargo net but there is none there.
?:iono: ?
Am I missing something?

This is what happens when you buy before you try.
Looking at the picture from the toyota accesories website, it clearly appears that there are hooks for the net to attach to.
Mine doesnt have these hooks, I have the shelf that sits on top of where they would be.
In summary, I guess it seems that a cargo net is only for liftbacks that don't have that shelf in the back?
Going out to take another look but I think I just wasted $20 and i thought i was getting such a bargain. . . . .

You should have gotten these clasps with the net.
BTW - I do have the shelf/cover thing as well.

If you didn't get the hooks with your net, any Toyota dealer should have them. Just ask for the Cargo Net Hardware, shouldn't be more than $5 or $6.

You have to drill a hole on each side in order to put the hook in place
I just got my and its pain in the butt to install it.

:iono: :help: Ok, do you just drill a hole into the plastic or metal beneath it?
Do the hooks screw into something?
Did anybody buy thier net and did they get hardware with it or was there hooks already there?
I want to know if it is going to be a major task?

Went to the dealer yesterday and asked for a hok/bracket kit for the cargo net. They placed a call and are still looking into it. They asked me where I got a net if I didn't have the hooks to put it on.
I told them, eBay.
I'm still waiting for a call back to see if I can get just the hooks.
The guy did say that if I had bought it there, it would have what I needed to install it. Then the guy made a remark about me spending another $20 to put in the $20 bargain I got.
So right now I have a cargo net and nowhere to put it. . . . . . .

You didn't buy anything from eBay - nobody buys anything from eBay - you bought it from a Toyota parts dealer of some sort. What does the seller say about this?

people like that suck... guys like that have never used the internet and they don't have a clue how to buy stuff online anyways... that way they will always pay too much.

If you're only missing one of the hooks, and nothing else, I may have one left over. I had a cargo net in my corolla that I gave away, but forgot to give 1 hook. So if I can find it, it's yours. Let me know.

Im sure you wasted no time contacting the seller... what did he say??
I would drop Ken@Sparks Toyota an email, and ask him if he can get the hooks. He is very helpful, and a dealership that doesnt shy away from modders!

I said I won it ON eBay.
What's wrong with some people?
Just trying to get help with a problem and someone has to pick at what you say.
Thanks . . . . . . .

Chris07LB, thank you.
Sorry for not addressing you sooner. You were most helpful, as always.
I have not made that call yet, was waiting for my parts department guy to call me back which hasn't happened.

I didn't contact the seller. Didn't figure there would be a point. The seller clearly stated that all sales were final and as-is. It was my fault for not looking before buying or asking about the hooks, took that for granted.
My bad. . . .

(I'm sorry if my post sounded a little...stern)
Go ahead and contact the seller! It can't hurt, and he or she might say "shoot, that's what these things are, I'll send the right away." Or not.

Tom, My Liftback came with the cargo net and shelf. Was just trying to give him a few close up's on the parts he was missing.

Thanks, I found a PDF of the install, the usual PIA, but worth it to me....our sponsor Sparks has saved me significant $$.
