I was wondering if anyone was going to do or has already put DF210's on an S Sedan. I am debating on the DF's and NF's.

Even the TRD suspension installed by something other then a tech from Toyota will void it if something suspension wise happens to the car correct??

I have a pair right now, but I am hoping it wont be too low. Thats what I am debating on. If there is such thing as low.

If you have the stcok 15's like I have, the DF210's are kinda low, but not low enough where you have to be constantly reminding yourself over evey pot hole or road break..

i have scuffed the bottom of my front lip already on stock suspension, but i am still no hesitation on putting the DF210's on...it probably will be 2 low, but just think of the stock front lip as a scuffguard for the front bumper :p

Fair warning, I have the TRD suspension and the bottom of my car is absolutely trashed after a stout 3750 miles. If you're planning on dropping your Yaris, get used to the fact that this will be a fact of life. You will bottom out. Period.
Anyone on skid plates for a Yaris? Haha. This rollerskate needs something to grind on.

Who cares about some scuffs? Just an excuse to throw your dream body kit on it later and garage it as a keeper. Its a piece of Japanamerican culture. :smoking:
Seriously though, its not really cosmetic damage since 99% of any scratches you will get from "bottoming out" will be on the very bottom of your kit. It is damage that is easily fixed.

There's "bottoming out your suspension" a.k.a. riding the bump stops, and then there is "bottoming out your your car," a.k.a. hitting a nice big 'ol pot hole and slamming the car down in it.
Those with the TRD suspension are not cutting their bumpstops.. is it because the drop isn't as severe as a Tanbe drop, or is it because Toyota doesnt want you to really use your stock struts, and that you upgrade to the TRD struts/shocks when these original ones "bottom out."
Id be willing to bet, some wouldnt even know what if felt like to ride their bumpstops, and would just blame the new ride quality on the "springs" themselves.

That would have to be one huge pothole, but I have seen them. I will probably stick with the DF's on mine. I got them really cheap though so if I decide to go with the NF's I wont be out much or there is always EBay. I was just worried about the front effect getting ripped of as well as the whole front end, but I really doubt if that would happen. Thats why I was asking some of you guys that had already lowered their Yaris's, but I have an S Sedan so I have ground effects to worry about.

Thats when the D.O.T. gets a nasty voicemail. I hit a pothole that had been in the same place for months and ruined a tire and bent a rim. I just forgot about the darn thing, and they got a real nasty voicemail from me. Just to say I got a call back and it was fixed by the next weekend. The more i debate on the DF's the more I think I will like em.

Its awesome you guys do your own work. I try to do as much as I can myself, but space and tools in the garage are limited. I am waiting on my neighbor who has a lift and about 20 grand worth of tools. We wanna see them pics when you get done. :respekt:

well, the back is done, and just started to sprinkle...(no garage ><) which also means lots of gravel in my knees, but just came in for a break, and to decide if i want to go finish up in the rain or not...
side note: remove the ABS sensor clip from the rear torsion bar(if you have ABS :))....to get the travel needed to remove the stock springs. more to come...

its all done, no pics yet...raining out here...all four wheeles measured 25.5" from the ground to the arch of the wheele well, and after the drop they were all sitting at 23.75" and now the front lip sits just 5.25" off the ground.
it looks real nice, the tires fit so nicely into the wheele wells.
as soon as the reain lets up ill try and snap some pics :)

no clearance issues with the toyota alloys, but with a wider tire might give some problems, but there appears to be plenty of room on the inside of the well to have no problems with the proper offset.

Damn looks good. How does it handle and drive? I have DF's waiting in a box, but was debating on the DF's and NF's.....Whats your opinion between the two now that you have the DF's installed?

i wouldnt go with the NF's, just because i like it LOW :)
handleing is great, and the ride is just a bit stiffer, infact if it drove loike it does now from the factory, i probably wouldnt have even been upset :)

Thef ront end just looks like it is sitting on the ground. I think its the pic that makes it look lower then it is. Since you have been to work has it bottomed out, scraped, anything like that? I guess a clearer pic would sum it up.

no cleaner pics yet..but it is low, cant fit a finger between the tire, and the wheel well,
i have to drive down one of the worst streaches of road to get to work, (bump bump bump sewer bump bump bump sewer) and can deffinetly feal them more, but they really arnt too harsh, it feals smoother on smoth flat road, and entering the freeway is alot of fun when you can turn onto the onramp at 55 :)
no bottoming out except for leaving steap driveways front first. i think it is because the front lip is so close to the tires that it dosnt have any problem getting up the drive, but it scrapes on the same drives on the way back onto the road, and backing out gives no scrape atall.
also seems to be alot of play in the front bumper, when lifting up on the front lip, makes me think that it would be really hard to break anything by scraping it on the ground, unless you drive it right into something.

Dont sound too bad. I just didnt want everyday driving to become a pain in the @$$. I can always change it if its too low which I doubt it. I was just wanting to see some pics of what I had to look forward too.

also meant to say that you can get a better feal of the road with the stiffer springs...dont really know how to explain what i am trying to say, but maybe you get the idea?
feals like you are more "intune" with the pavement?(not in a bad way)
ok, i give up :)

I see what you are saying. I know that the stiffer the springs are the less the suspension will give and the less chances of messin up the front end. I was sitting at work last night and remembered that with 4 people in the car it sat right where it would be if I lowered it and it drove fine. I am just one of those people that get worried that I will mess something up, but from what everyone is tellin me I should be ok.

had four good sized adults in the car today, and hade some rer wheel scrubbing when going over "whoops" in the road, and one exhause scrape entering a road from a gravel construction area....but nothing major, and i was fairly impressed that i never just slammed the body onto the ground :)
ohh, and a few more decent pics of the drop :) (cant belive i didnt take a straight side shot :iono: )

plenty of snow here in wisconsin, and dont think that a 2 inch drop will make much of a difference driving in the snow, snow is soft, and dosnt really matter if you hit it, well, aslong as it isnt packed, and if it is packed then you just ride ontop, see what i am saying, there is still five inches of clearance, so maybe if it snows more than that in one shot might have some problems, but if that is the case, you dont want to be out driving ne ways :)
