Today, I tried to make a video of the supercharged Yaris but I had half a tank of regular 87 Octane gas in the tank. We filled it the rest of the way with 91 Octane but when I floored the accelerator, I heard knocking (pinging) (detonation) so I had to back off the pedal.
It's also good to have a wideband A/F gauge installed before you boost so that you can tell if you are running lean or rich. I read somewhere that running too lean can lead to knocking.
I also have to switch to a high heat range spark plug like the Blitz manual suggests. Perhaps someone can explain how that may prevent knocking.
I'm going to drive without boost until I get a full tank of 91 Octane in the car.
