Official HID show off

I remember there was this thread about the glare of HID in a reflector headlight housing. Well, i finally had time, and it was actually dark enough to take good pictures of my headlights...

the kit... i'm using 1 volvo ballast and 1 maxima ballast lol. The bulbs are BMW bi-xenon bulbs modified to fit in a H4-2 solenoid. Anyways.... 4300k power.

4300k the same bulbs found in a BMW 330i or X5.

I want some 5500k bulbs. My 6000k's are a little too blue for me.

its all about the camera, its lens, and settings etc.
We have 5000k in the yaris and i'd probably recommend 4500k. I'll get pics when i can.

OMG, I really want the auto-leveling, adaptive HIDs off a bimmer, but wouldn't that take a LOT of electronics know-how to put them in and actually get them working like a bimmer (turning headlights around corners, auto-leveling, etc.)

If there is a way to do that, PLEAAASSSEEEE post pics and instructions and video. if you get auto leveling, adaptive lights working on yaris, I :bow: you!!!!!

well, the feature is there... but i don't have anything else.. so, i doubt it'll get everything working as it's supposed to.

i don't think you'll get too far with auto-levelling without significant work. The auto levelling feature relies on a bunch of sensors and the ECU to do its job for cars that come with it, and having only the parts from the headlights is not enough.

i'm guessing you just have the headlights so you'll just have the motors which are not much use unless they can be manually adjusted like the FX projector motors. But with that, making a mounting mechanism to allow it to pivot and adjust will take some time and thought.

Wow Violin very nice as I remember. Lets not get into the subject of glare and cut off and if you need a harness with relays :). I know I had some HID's and I was blinding people. Felt so bad I ripped them out.

I had a DIY posted before the hack. I'll have to put something together.

I made a harness (actually two so if one fails, I still have the other side) that lets me flash the highs without the HIDs (lows) coming on. The lows stay on when I turn on the high beams so my ballasts aren't cycling on and off.

oh, did i mention that my HIDs are bi-xenons? got this actuator that changes the position of the bulb for high beam.
