I am looking to get big sheets of vinyl to cover parts of my car. Does anyone know where I can order such a thing? I'm talking about 5'x5' or somethign like that. I know I've seen people change the color of their car and buying big peices of vinyl but I have no idea where to get it.

email Mike from www.autotrimdesign.net he has tons of vinyl and could probably get you what you wanted. tell him Matt from YarisWorld recommended you try him.

Do you have experience wrapping vinyl or would you have someone else do it. I work at a sign shop is why I ask. If you don't have the tools and experience I strongly recommend letting a professional shop do the job.

You might also look up fellers, a place with everything you'd need.

I don't see what's so hard with vinyl rap :iono: I figure all you need is some soapy water, squeegy, spray bottle, and a heat gun. I figure if I'm gonna pay somone to do it I might as well just get it painted.

If you've never done it, think of when you're trying to wrap up a certain left over dinner and you want that perfect size Glad Cling Wrap. You pull out the the size you want and tear it off. Next thing you know, you're trying to unbundle it because it folded up at all corners into a big scrunchy mess. If you are going to do it, order enough to practice on small curved items, then after you master it, move on to the car. Just a suggestion

Good suggestion.

My husband also works for a sign manufacturer. It is not as easy as it looks.

wouldn't mind getting dark smoke vinyl for headlights/tailights, just wonder how much light it would burden from coming out

Better check your state laws on that. Most states it's illegal to do that. Doesn't seem to stop people around here though.

VHT makes a spray on tint that is easier to work with, and if you want it darker, you just add more coats. I put one coat on my tails, although you can barely tell-it is a tad darker than stock.

Thats the truth man. Good vinyl ain't cheep either. You may end up spending more to doing it yourself making a mistake or ten then you would have if you paid a pro.
