Just a quick question regarding exhausts and speed bumps...

I have a sports cat and middle section + Fujitsubo on the car. When it comes to fairly high speed bumps or curbs I sometimes scrape my middle section on them due to the car being pretty low with the coilovers. Do you guys think that the scraping harms or does damage to the middle section in any way? I checked under the car, its only light scrapes and scratches, no dents or anything major, basically only minor scratches and scrapes...

Thanks!

the only bad exhaust scrapes that have ever happened to me was when i kept hitting speed bumps with my flex pipe and it scraped a hole in the flex pipe. i wouldnt worry about it, if it startes to leak just tack it back up

Exactly ,just keep an eye on the exhaust avery few months to make sure you are not busting a flange and putting a big dent in the pipe......I am sure I never owned a car yet that did not hit on the exhaust somewhere.....

Most scrapes sound alot worse than they really are. What type of metal and as long as its not hitting on a 90 degree angle I wouldn't worry.

That low I'd be more concerned with it catching on something (fractured pavement, etc) than rubbing/scrapping. Perhaps a muffler shop can tuck it up higher for you.
