I like to use Red Line MT-90 manual transmission gear oil and had a quick question:

Is this the same as the differential oil, or is that separate to replace and maintain?

one in the same from what I'm uderstanding . Takes little less than 2 quarts . This a 5 speed manual , no ? If so , 2 quarts is all that's needed . Remember some oil is left in the tranny .

Last time I changed it, it took 4 quarts. The manual says 3.9. I was just wondering if the gear oil is the same as the differential oil. Thanks.

How often do you change it?

I have actually only changed it once in 14,000 miles, but I was only wondering about the differential. Thanks for answering.

I am not familiar with the Toyota's but in my BMW's, I use MT90 in the gearbox and 75-90 Redline in the diff.
