Here is an event that was just held in Victoria BC.

There was no Yaris there to represent, but it was a great day!

What venue is that, Mojo?

It's an infection, barber; even after being away from the sport for over 30 years, I still keep an eye out for any events in the area, if only to spectate. The kid will certainly put a crimp in your activities; it does every time...

It was the Victoria Club on the island. Now that the pad that we used to use is no longer available due to the city giving in to complaints from people who live near the airport about noise from the cars (not the planes) we have to go elsewhere. This means to the States, Victoria or try to find another location.
We've got a few clubs out there looking for places to host an event. The problem is it has to be a place where we can get insurance and it's safe and spectator free.

We're now down to 4 events for 2009 and these are just regional events (I think).
So it' will be mostly track days now for us until we can get the right venue.

Does anyone do ice racing?

It's always the same, Mojo... my hobby is flying model airplanes, and Victoria was a very difficult place go find a place to fly. Eventually, a bunch got enough bucks together to rent a farm field, but the attitudes and restrictions are insane. I must assume that you were running at Pat Bay airport: the complainers figure it this way: we can't do anything about the airplanes, but we sure can stop auto sport and model flying, so they do.

Ashcroft is still the only regular ice racing venue that I know of.
