I had a minor accident with the garage door (haha) and the antenna became separated from the roof. The antenna is still intact, though I'm not sure the plastic base was damaged. There are two wires hanging out of the roof, should they be attached to the two metal contacts at the bottom of the antenna?

All kidding aside, I too hear my antenna whip scrape the garage door sometimes. You musta had the door down quite low to bust off the base though.:frown:

This is why I want to add a sunroof to mine. My Xterra has one and I see the garage door stop at the top of the track through its sunroof. With the Yaris it's hard to verify that the door has made it all of the way up.

We don't have an opener, it's all manual here. LOL!

If it were me I'd probably just take it by the dealer before I made it worse. They'll know how to pop everything back together. Be warned out there that "automatic" car washes with brushes can also damage and dent the roof where the antenna is mounted-I see this on rental Toyotas once in awhile.

That's exactly what happened. I looked back, saw what appears to be an open garage door, backed up and BAM!

Ouch! Looks like the roof creased a bit as well. Did the nut pop through the roof, or did the stud rip out of the antenna base?

With the two wires, one is power for the antenna amplifier circuit and the other is the antenna signal wire. If you can't tell for sure which went where, you could potentially do some damage reconnecting them.
