so richard, now that production has started when can we be expected to pay? will it be after christmas (hopefully)?

richardholdener

Fuel rail is in stock location-no need to even unbolt it for the installation. Everything is in stock location-we have to lengthen 2 vacuum hoses but thsoe will be provided with intake.

That install looks fairly straightforward. I'm glad you posted that for us Rich!
Looking forward to the install.

This is very tempting to me! I swore that this car would remain a STRICT daily driver and I would not make any modifications in regards to the motor but this thing is just so nice.

im just really confused on this whole thing. I have been watching all the other posts and and reading them very carefully. But how does this add HP? Easier airflow? :iono:

Just curious, whats connected to the ignition coils? (The two aligator clips)

mikenacarato
12-22-2008, 11:27 PM
when u dyno a car you have to pic up a tach signal from somewhere. a coil is an easy place to get it.

At least the delay has allowed me to save some money. Maybe it will take another six months, then I wont feel so bad forking over the $600 to $700 plus another $150 for a new header.

this is the part where someone with the initiative and the resources takes his pictures and designs their own to sell.

i bet turboyaris could replicate this with no problem he has the tools and the knowledge.

i was thinking about it at once point until he came back with it, but i gave up hope and moved to another project that is coming out quite well for the yaris.

I will though, if someone buys me a tig welder!

I am 400% percent behind that idea as long as it not another person trying to get 700 bucks for each one.

^^^^ What do you think would be a suitable price? remember that aluminum went up in price too... along with R&D and actually making the manifolds.

and if you make it look like his, me personally, i would feel bad about stealing his design? im pretty sure he patented it the way it is..

Hey guys stop bashing Richard. If you read in the other fourm about this intake he said that the company that he worked for didn't want to make the intake at the moment they wanted to focus on the higher priced intakes for the v-8 crowd. He also that that he was going to fund this project out of his own pocket and doing it that way he was going to have find another shop that would be able to replicate the work on the original craftsmanship. I hoped it wouldn't have taken this long but I want one no matter what

bladesmith6
02-28-2009, 09:31 AM
At least on my part it's not bashing, I have nothing against the guy personally. I just don't think the price was reasonable when similar products for other vehicles was several hundred less if you shopped around. And before you guys rip me a new orifice again I do understand about R & D costs, I suggested it should have been sold to one of the bigger manifold companies so the price to the consumer came down and he still made his money. Maybe that wasn't possible but I think it was a reasonable suggestion so everyone would be happy. Look where we are now, 8 months or more down the road from the start of the project and neither side has anything to show for it.
