Hello,
I am getting ready to buy not one but two Yarises; (Yarii, Yaris') whatever...

Back home in the UK the Yaris is available as a 4 door hatchback; why here did they strip the other two doors in this format??

Safety?? :burnrubber:

Just wondered....

Cheers

why?

Prolly because the Scion xA is also a 5 door hatch, but that is just a guess.

they want to give the option to choose either sedan or hachback seeing as americas older folk (no offense) seem to enjoy the sedan look and the younger crowd goes both ways. that makes a wider array or customers

Toyota has a special secret deal with the Canadian immigration department to get more people to live here, so we get the 4 door hatch...

I'm going to agree with this. Hatchbacks are still a touchy genre in the U.S., and Toyota probably doesn't want to have too many in its lineup at this moment. I would by a four-door Yaris over a two door, given the option, and probably would buy a four-door Yaris over an xA, too. Granted, I haven't driven either car. I own an xB, though.
