...than these kids who cut their springs and bounce up and down on any minute road imperfection? I hadn't seen this is some time and coming home today some kid in an Acura was rolling as if his car was a jack hammer and the road was fairly flat....friggin hysterical. It seems like it would make you stomach turn just being in the car.

Well there's a ridiculous amount of civics in my area that have suspensions like that. But they're usually driven by high school kids and are painted with primer with stupidly ugly unpainted body kits. Or in other words, rice.

Is that good? Few days ago I was watching Overhaulin and I saw couple guys cutting those spring because Foose love lower car. I heart that's dangerous.

It isn't dangerous if done correctly. The guys @ Foose know what they're doing. For those of us that don't have a degree in automotive engineering, it is a lot safer to just buy some aftermarket springs or else you may find yourself driving on a waterbed suspension like our friend in the Acura.

I had friends that use to cut coils on their trucks. Nothing too extreme though. I had a friend that had a Ford Ranger that had an actual lowering kit on it and it bounced all the time.

Seriously though....I mean, I don't know how the kid could stand it. The car was literally a jack hammer on wheels. Oh well....

having a degree in automotive engineering does not make it any better lol..

it's simple math..

if you have 7 coils designed to support 600lbs.. and you cut off one coil, you have to split that 86lbs with the remaining 6 coils. if the spring is heavy duty enough, you'll be fine.. if its not (Tanabe DF style) you'll bottom out more, and eventually may see spring failure.

i'm currently running Tein Stechs from an xB (much heavier car) with a coil removed from each spring.. the car rides fine, and because my car is about 350lbs lighter than a stock xA i have no issues with over-straining the springs.
