This intake was previously used by cali yaris and then shinlee. I thought I would use it, but after installing my exhaust.. needing $ and being satisfied where I am.. I decided to sell it. Make me a reasonable offer. It comes with a large dry flow filter (b/c shin bought it without a filter) that only needs to be cleaned every 30k and doesnt need any oiling. Shinlee also said he put new intake clamps on it. He also said he cleaned it, it looks decent.. could be cleaned w/some more warm water though. It has some scratches.. and parts of the sticker are dented.. but its in real good shape.. I mean.. it's an intake.. doesn't mater a whole lot. It looks good. Good luck guys..

first off there is a reason it's called a pm to keep it private.
second don't call people out when they send you an offer simply reject the offer by pm'ing me back or sending a counteroffer.

I'm not lowballing you as I said in the PRIVATE MESSAGE.

I don't understand how?

you see the way I came to that price is this:

- intake has unknown hours/mileage from TWO PREVIOUS OWNERS (i'm not counting superfly as he said he didn't install it)
yeah it's not an integral piece that has serviceable pieces but it has had to endure installations and removals, hours and miles of driving in probably all weather conditions.

- it's installed in the engine bay and endures far greater heat/weather stress than say a seatbelt on the inside of a car

- I don't know what he paid for it but certainly one should not be asking for exactly the same amount the item was bought for

- THE ITEM IS USED not brand new, probably no original box, no paper work, no AEM decals

you going to buy a car technically fourth hand (like this intake) and not let those circumstances come to mind when making an offer?

I really don't think it can be considered lowball unless I were to say that is my final offer, I asked for him to counter that and he did, unfortunately his counter is more than I THINK IT IS WORTH TO ME

not flaming you---- thebarber just explaining my rationale

so be that as it may---- bump for a good intake and a good guy ( I say this as we are both on the same page )

PM'd again Superfly :)

oh and I did have one more question:

all the mounting hardware will be included right?

thebarber

pfft, id have offered it too to see if he'd bite

but with a used intake it doesnt REALLY matter how many people have owned it previously.....the pipe is a pipe so it might be scratched or something from install/uninstalls and you can clean the filter almost as much as you like. aem intakes are close to 200USD new.....so i think 100 shipped is much more reasonable

but its not my sale.

just dont go around saying 50$ shipped isnt a lowball offer. cus it is.

I'd imagine 100 is fine, I got it for 80 w/o a filter, and yeah, mileage on a piece of pipe doesn't matter really.

it never matters how much someone buys something for.. people out there like to buy things and turn around and sell them for "market value" and hence, they make a profit. Profit is not a bad thing.. how much I paid for the intake is quite irrelevant to how much I should sell it for. You use existing screws for the mounting... instructions can be found on aems website. There is a 1 inch rubber washer that isn't included (never got it).. but you can use any sort of spacer instead (like a several washers)

To highlight.. this year I bought a tv for 200 and invested 100 into it.. then sold it for 900 dollars for profit.. If how much I paid for the tv was taken into accout.. the buyers (who got a good deal for a 52" hdtv) would have gotten a tv for 300 maybe 400 if you somehow considered labor. I'm only interested in selling items for their worth.
