33 is old?

I must be ancient at 41... my first question was "who the hell is Travis Barker?

(I've been listening to Janis Joplin and Radiohead this morning... and I don't know who drums for either of them, either)

he used to be the drummer for the band "Blink 182" and is the founder of the clothing brand, "Famous Stars and Straps"

No, that one I've heard of! (but, yeah... really old)

How 'bout Ginger Baker (Cream)? Keith Moon (The Who)? Neil Peart (Rush)? Phil Collins (Genesis)? Stewart Copeland (The Police)? Nick Mason (Pink Floyd)?

(sorry for the threadjack)

Hey, who drums for Green Day? I've always thought he was good.

Ah, okay... Tre Cool. And he's even OLDER than Travis Barker. Freakin' old guys rule!

Dude drums like a master, but my opinion of him has gone down considerably since that plane crash.

He and DJ AM, the sole survivors of that plane crash, are now suing the airline (which is justified in my opinion) and the estates of the pilots who died in the crash (which is absolute bs). I understand that the crash is probably the pilots' faults but they already paid the absolute highest price for it, their lives. How is it in any way the fault of their now devastated families for this crash? As if Travis Barker and DJ AM need more money. Stay classy, celebrity millionaires...

That is the lawyers and the deep pocket syndrome. Everyone involved is subject to a lawsuit when related to a death or near death. As an example if you had a DUI on the way home from a bar and kill someone.... the bartender and bar owner can be named in the same suit. It's just legal business.

Ah, well... us old farts could take the same direction on the song instead of the drummer.

You call that an OLD song?

The day I knew I was starting to get old: Listening to the radio and The Pretender's "Brass in Pocket" is announced as a "closet classic". This was in about 1989, the song was less than 10 years old at the time! (and I was a ripe-old 22)

Funny how your perspective of time and age changes as you get older.

you want to see a real drummer .. look up Mike Mangini I went to a couple of his drum clinics.. by far the most insane drummer out there (has the guiness record for fastest hands and was going for fastest feet)
