Three words: HOLY F&CKING BAsS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*(FY*(Yf9ahf98
WOW. Those solobarics are absolutely refrickindiculous. I can't even wrap my mind around a well-powered 15 in a Yaris.

Wow..... is that shield so no carjackers get any ideas? or does it help with the noise? Im not good with audio electronics :p
The Architect
12-27-2008, 09:56 PM
yea thats the idea, it also doubles as a solid surface for the bass to immediately bounce off of and reverberate.
also it has a surface area of 18 inches. so...my first 18 in a yaris.

That thing is a BEAST! you will have to make another video and post it up on youtube so we can all see how you will be deaf in the next two years :)

How much does it weigh? LOL about 500 LBS?
The Architect
12-27-2008, 11:31 PM
the sub weighs about 38 lbs.
the box....idk...a lot.
the back end sits just a little bit higher than with my prior setup so im happy about that

Woah! :eyebulge:
All I have is a shallow 10" and that's already very "boomy" to me. Can't imagine how hard hitting that setup must be.
The Architect

thats something I think a lot of people have misconceptions about.
I have the gain on the amp all the way down and same for on my head unit and its just enough bass to fill it in a shake the seats a little.
I like having the ability to either have comfortable amounts of bass or insane amounts but 95% of the time I leave it on low for practical purposes.

To each his/her own man. This guy has two beautiful cars, I'm not about to knock him for being unique.

Yes he does and I applaud his cars and mods - except this one. You know what they say about too much of a good thing.
The Architect
12-28-2008, 04:23 PM
thats the good thing about a gain control...bass can be anywhere from comfortable to crazy, i find times to use both.
aside from "too much" being another opinion it also doesnt come into play unless chosen so.

I wouldn't call this overkill... Just my opinion though.
The Architect
12-28-2008, 09:31 PM
anyone who thinks one S15L7 is overkill should take a hop skip and a jump over to realm of excursion and see what real bass is about.....usually....(some of the installs over there are hilarious)...but most are nice-awesome.

Awesome job - but why do you have floor mats in the rear, lol.
The Massachusetts people are planning some meets for the summer out towards the east, you should shoot up and provide us with musical entertainment... ie. crank the gain up for us haha.
I hope at some point I get to hear this monster.
The Architect
12-28-2008, 10:24 PM
sounds like a possible plan.
by then I should have the beefy alternator to provide such music lol.
and i have them because it came with the little floor mat package thing i bought. haha, i did use to have a backseat ya know.

Are you really an architect?
The Architect
12-28-2008, 10:36 PM
not in the super rich constructing of massive buildings sense.
just with smaller things.

12-28-2008, 11:33 PM
are you planning on "finishing" the set up? im sure it sounds good...im just looking at all the brackets, hinges, and un carpeted edges. not trying to be a jerk or anything, but that stuff costs points at car shows.

did you have to upgrade your battery for the hifonics or just the capacitor? awsome setup
The Architect
12-29-2008, 12:51 AM
Im far from a great carpenter, in fact im terrible, once the edges bug me enough im sure ill carpet them but im not going to be entering any shows....ever.
I got the yellow top, cap and amp etc all at once.

nnnice. Thumbs up.
So what are you running on the rest?
Did you do a serious dampening of panels before this setup? (I did not find your previous post on the original setup)
What audio source do you have?
The Architect
12-29-2008, 09:49 AM
running on the rest?
I have done no dampening yet and am unsure if I am going to. So far I have no audible rattles etc.

Dude... stop messing around and just do a wall like so.
course this one is really ghetto... but it was a temp setup for SPL comps only. Deck was on a wiring harness so we could operate it from outside the van.
box was around 24cuft, 400sq in of port, two 15's, those wires are the speaker wires and are 8awg.
