Engagement Ring

My fiance's engagement ring was mentioned in the what I got for christmas post and i figured some people would be interested to see / comment. I'll get some pics of my engagement ring up soon too.

Thanks for the concern, nope she knows we have been engaged since early october, we designed the ring together. Fun experience designing it together.

Thanks for the compliments :) The scrollwork was from a sketch i did at the jewlers and was hand engraved into the wax mockup of the ring which was used to make a cast for the platinum. The scrollwork goes all the way around the band, and except for the inside and the sizing bar, there isn't a bit thats not engraved. The millgrain (little dots/ bumps) at the edge of the ring was hand impressed by our jewler after the band was cast. The Jewler (Lauren Jewlers in Manhattan's Bowry district) was absolutely great, spent 3 hours with us designing it, and another hour going over the wax mockup to make sure we were happy before casting it.

Thanks for the compliments and the congratulations:) Yea Asscher cut stones are hard to find, a few of the places we went to had some salesmen that didn't even know what it was. We got the strangest looks at most places when we asked for an art deco style setting too so thats why we ended up having it done custom. Yep the entire setting / band is platinum, evidentally detail like the scrollwork holds up much better when done in platinum so we decided to go that way. I proposed on a yacht tour of manhattan harbor at sunset.

Great detail on the ring. It’s one of the most unique designs that I have ever seen. I don’t know how old you are. But I wish that I would have got my ring a size bigger. Age and good cooking have made my fingers a little portly and I need to get it resized.
