Well did some research. This works for Normal TomToms and PDA TomToms
I have a PDA that runs a TomTom Navcore GPS. I quickly got bored of the little arrow and decided why can't my Yaris be displayed. Using some photoshop and some MSPaint, I was able to conjure up my Yaris on my phone GPS.
First I made my signature pixel art Yaris. From there it made my life easier. For those who have pixel cars your job is a lot simpler from here.
In the future, I will try with actual photo instead of pixel car to see if it works. Will require more Photoshop.

On your PC
1. Open mspaint.exe ( Start > Run > mspaint.exe ) / Or photoshop
2. Open image that you want to use as a car symbol ( File > Open )
3. Edit image to make some nice symbol
4. Fill in the image background with red (RGB 255,000,000)
NOTE: "This might be tricky with a red Yaris but I haven't tried it yet since my Yaris is Bayou Blue, try to outline the pixel car in black and then fill the background."
5. Resize to size between 24 x 24 pixels and 128 x 128 pixels (e.g. 80 x 80 )
6. Save image as 256 color bitmap (BMP) to your PC
7. Copy your customised car symbol to your TomTom in the subfolder /art/cars (On a PDA this subfolder goes /Program Files/Navigator/art/cars)
This is an example of my pixel car after some editing.

On your TomTom:
1. Disconnect TomTom
2. Goto the main menu > Change preferences > Change car symbol
3. Select your customised car symbol (For PDA if at first symbol does not show up in list, try soft resetting device.)
And the TomTom view with my new car symbol, my Yaris!

Happy Navigating! :burnrubber:
