which do you think? What YW decides, so it shall be!

So my thought on painting calipers: Unless you are really wanting to show off that you have stock brakes, leave 'em the stock color. Black would be a 2nd choice if you've got your heart set on painting them. Just my two cents.

not enough info.

Color of car?
Any other secondary or accent color now or in the future?

I could run outside and take a pic of my wheel really quick... I've got black heliums and black calipers on a MM liftback.

if you are uploading pics directly to YW, there is a limit. You might want to try a third party pic hosting service, like Photobucket or similar.

Hey Chino, where you get them nice rotors and how much??
Heck with painting the calipers, the rotors are the first thing I noticed!:headbang:

I got my rotors on Ebay, but that was before the lovely Garm started selling them @ Micro Image. Support our vendors bitches. You won't believe how inexpensive they are, either.

C'mon man, pics!

I was thinking about painting mine as well. Along with ordering some R1 rotors either in slotted or slotted/drilled. Can't get a BBK for my car now with my rims, so might as well work with what I have!

Did a quick paint job and I think it doesn't look too shabby:

Also, did yours come with 14" steelies from the dealer?

I did not paint myself....have friend local who owns powder shop. He does all my work car, bikes and everything. I do the prep work with my bead blast cabinet and or my sand blaster.

Also my 07 came with 15" steelies.

Got the rotors back today, will say, no more rust peeking through the rims. Pics tomorrow. Last item will be the rear drums.

Oh and AT3GG.......not trying to thread jack.

Gideon, yours looks very nice. Because of those rims more of the caliper shows.

lol.....now how do you manage that with steel rotors?

Klink10
01-14-2009, 05:39 PM
Kinda like this..... Discs are painted all over except where the pads make contact. To those that nay say rotor paint, factory ones came painted except not very well. I got tired of that visible brown rust circle and the rusty outer edge. I know rust and paint do not do a good job of transfering heat but then I do not use my brakes alot nor do I race the car, so I'll put up with it.

hey just make sure you keep the wheel mating area clean too (not too sure how you could aside from taking the wheels off at least once a week or more)......otherwise that nice clean paint job won't last too long...

LOOKS REAL GOOD....

Thanks and yes you are right....I am running Honda (Canada) rims and have re-done the inside mating surface. I know what you mean as they had taken off all the hub paint. I know that paint where the wheel mates won't last but I do plan on just coating with some anti-seize to offset the damage. It was everything that does show with wheels on that I wanted to coat.

Oh I'm retired so the wheels come off quite often. I really don't have alot to do except occupy my time.

Kimona.....Thanks. If you serious PM me and I'll set it up.

Garm.....Thank you

AuxMike......Thanks to you also....see comments about which wheels I run (pics in "My Garage")
