hey guys, i recently saw someone selling a 1zzfe throttle body from a 07 matrix and he said that it can help improve horsepower and throttle response. i was wondering if this is true. and if so by how much of a difference. because the throttle response is really slow and i hate the low end speed of the yaris.

Yes, that has been tried. I believe one person who tried that got a rough idle or some cold start problems (I think it revved the motor too high or something).
Try a search on here and see what comes up.

I have it. At cold starts it idles at 3000rpm then it settles. But I still have an issues with the revs ocillating after taking the car up to 6500 (after a few pulls).

with the oscilating problem, so when its at 6500rpm, does the idle go up and down or what happens?

After a pull when the car is in neutral (mine's a manual it oscilates a few seconds then it idles normally.

i have one. it revs up to 3 grand at cold starts and periodically revs jump up and down but then stops after a few jumps. i havent noticed a difference but my heavy ass 18 inch wheels have slowed the car down all together. if u had light weight wheels u would notice a difference

my revs jumped from 4000 to 1000 in neutral just sitting there. they never settled out. i took it off and am waiting on the manifold to put this on with.

Huh, doesnt that sound like a vacuum problem? did you epoxy the idle screw after adjusting? did you adjust it? or is there no adjustment on the 07 Matrix TB?

i didnt touch any idle adjustment screws. i saw a allen type screw but it was covered in a hard plastic epoxy already. i think it was leaking between the manifold and tb.

what are you doing with it?
Why you don't just bore the stock TB better than swapping another diffrent TB.

Will cost $100

I don't know if you can bore out the stock TB 1/4th of an inch.

After a week I got a Cell I scaned the car and it threw a code (wich I don't remember, sorry) it is an "Iddle malfunction". I'll work on it later in the week, but the car at least doesn't feel worst. It functions good and I just installed the 10% undedrive pulley and.... what can I say..... I love it!!!! But I'am suffering with the fat TRD18's ...... 18's ain't good right whooppee777??? LOL

has no one really made this swap positively, with no problems with the idling?

Just tried it myself. I used gasket maker and it sounds like there is an air leak. The reving and high idle happened also. After 7 minutes the CPU learned the new TB and the idle dropped to 1000rpm. The revs though were sporatic and rather annoying. I'm taking it back off.

18's dont fit too well but its tolerable. just do everything u can to avoid bumps and pot holes.

Well my main problem was I didn't let the gasket maker get set up. It was sucked into the intake and made a big mess! I re-installed my OEM TB and I think I will give it another attempt. Kinda stupid, beginner mistake. Luckily no CEL and it seems to be running fine.

I've had the 18's for almost three years, I took it out of the dealership with them so I have NO idea how the car will feel with smaller wheels. But it performs way better with the mods. I'am just thrilled to know how it will perform without 18's, guess it should feel a lot better.
