Hey All,
Picked this steering wheel setup off Jeff(03zz33) on saturday @ the socal meet .This is a badass setup which consists of...

Works Bell "shorty" Toyota Hub
Works Bell "limited red/silver" quick release (latest version)
Works Bell quick release F1 style flapper
Works Bell red steering wheel lock with 2 keys
Works Bell lock mounting pad (new)

Nardi Deep Cone 330mm steering wheel (black perforated leather w/red stitching)

Also picked up a Aspec "drift button" too , Enjoy ...

Nah , no Nardi horn button but Jeff kicked me down a knockoff horn button with the steering wheel . I really like the look of the wheel with no horn button but today some ass almost hit me and I went to hit the horn and no horn , lol . I plan on picking up the basic Nardi logo horn button real soon .

Really great setup. I was thinking about going a similar direction myself actually. Did it change the position of the wheel at all (is it closer or further from you)?

Thanks , It feels closer to me , also the steering wheel is now like 4" away from the turn signal so I figure its about 4" closer to me now .

Good to know, do you have to actually remove your hand from the wheel to reach the indicator stock or is it just a bit of a stretch?

All of my cars aside from my truck and Yaris have the quick release. Great anti-theft deterrent if nothing else. Also...for those complaining about the steering wheel distancing.....you can buy all sorts of spacers/hub combo's. I am not familiar with the Toyota applications though. BTW...I like the wheel, only think I would change is to switch from stainless screws to black.

The screws on the steering wheel are black . I just looked @ the picture and the flash on the camera does kinda make the screws look not black , lol .

Thanks , I'm not comfortable with a hotass balloon shooting at my face @ 80+mph, full of some freaky-ass powder stuff . I've never been in a crash , but I've had friends that have gotten burns on there face and arms cause of the airbag . One of my friends couldn't see for 3 days in one eye cause that powder stuff got in his eye. and another one of my friends got a bruse on half his face cause of it . Mabey it could of been worse without the airbag or mabey not. Im just not a fan of airbags Imo.

nice steering wheel. looks good. i'd love to do that too, but i want my airbag. i plan on being boosted in the future and want that extra safety. i don't mind some facial bruising or eye irritation opposed to picking out a hundred pieces of glass from my face.

Pretty much for show , but I was "drifting" (e-brake checking) a few corners today and its works . You remove the spring out of the e-brake handle so you can just pull the e-brake up and down without having to press the button in . Waiting on a set of Takata harness's to go with the recaro's , so no worries about losing the airbag here

call this company...A Spec (http://www.aspecproducts.com/modelview.asp?manid=44&modid=29)...this is where i got my worksbell short hub for ($150?)....if you're not going to use a quick release, u could get a regular hub for ($75?)!

Just messing with you. Wish I had a quick release wheel to defeat theft but im not about to lose the most important safety feature of this micro sized car. Good luck on never being in an frontal impact.

I used to have one on both of my Nissan 240SX's. Helps a lot intstead of pressing the button all the time.

There is a drift technique called "FF Drift" that is used by FWD drivers. A buddy of mine from Jersey used to do it in his 6th generation Honda Accord (which was a lease lol). Used to go to Englishtown for the DOW's (Drift Out Wednesdays) when DG Trials ran it and was really good at it. Eventually he got a 240SX coupe.

"for those complaining about the steering wheel distancing.....you can buy all sorts of spacers/hub combo's"

I'm interested in this! I need to extend my steering wheel for 2".
I want to know if this can be done without disabling the air bag.
Can you provide more info or links to sellers?

they are referring to aftermarket steering wheels as far as i know.

i love the wheel, i still havent jumped on one yet. i dont like quick releases though, i have heard a few horror stories of the cheap ones crapping out at speed, pretty dangerous. im sure they dont all do that, but still, enough to make me nervous.

+1

I spent many years as a Paramedic and fully realize the huge benefits of airbags.

Common bro , you know not to buy cheap-ass knock off parts . Works bell or nothing Imo . The ball bearing are recesed into the hub one by one , not just all the bearing chilling in one groove like nrg crap . I take my wheel off almost everyday and so far so good and also can't see how the work bell refix ii hub could fail based on its design . Fyi anyone worried about having an airbag this modd is not for you
