I found this on ebay.. what do you think about it?

I was thinking of snagging it and painting it black and putting it around the back emblem..

Paint it black? Like soaking a fine piece of Grade A meat in A1 sauce. Kills the flavor.

Not sure if it makes a difference, but the ones in the pics on cars are not exactly the same as the one you showed. The design of the ones on cars is a little thicker and doesn't connect over the top of the logo. Personally I don't really like either but thought I would point that out if you hadn't already noticed.

Agreed. The appeal about the Yaris hatchback is its simple curves and uncluttered appearance. Adding something like this is overkill and does not fit with the car's theme, imho. There is nothing sharp or pointy on the Yaris.

It isn't my cup of tea, but I'd bet it would be totally different painted. I'd buy that, go to the nearest art school and drop it and $50 off to some stoner and say "go nuts."
