Caveatipse Paranoia and new members

I know the guy's a pest, believe me, but now it seems every new member who asks a pretty basic question gets hounded for it and thought to be his next incarnation. That's not very welcoming, and what made this place great before was how we welcomed everyone, helped them through their questions, as basic as they may feel to us. That's gone down the crapper now.

So please, if you have your doubts about a new member, inform myself or a fellow moderator and we'll look into it, we have much better tools to know for sure, and he'll be banned again before you know it.

So let's all be welcoming, tolerant and helpful, ok?

Well said, Thomas, and I couldn't agree more. Yarisworld is a fantastic source of information for this little car. The people have been overwhelmingly great here with their knowledge base, experiences, and such. I certainly do not want Yarisworld to become a toxic location for people. I want new members here -- they help keep the community growing!

Just a suggestion..... Lift the ban on the Caveatipse user name. Let him back and let him run his game. We are all familiar with his tactics and just lock up posts only when needed.

The only drawback is we are aware of the dumb questions and those in themselves drag things down.

A lot of new people use this forum as their owners manuel. It's not good or bad, it's the way people are now trained to get information. Also, it's the first car for many members. There are things that I take for granite that others just don't know. Instead of searching for information on old threads some just find it easier to ask a new question. Again it's the new way.
