Hey guys,
I am thinking about installing my system myself... eventually. However, I have NEVER done it before! OK I know, not a great start, but I really want to learn! I've got a Yaris Hatchback (5 dr) and don't want to do a boring parcel shelf install (even though the parcel shelf is too small anyway!) What I want to do is put the sub in the spare tyre, get a new headunit, and install new speakers in the door. I have a couple of questions for you guys. Do know of any good resources (ie. books, internet...) of an absolute, easy to follow, beginners guide of how to install stuff, with everything from installation to the description of what everything means. Could anyone spill the beans for with me? Another Q is that can I install a 12" sub with Coaxial speakers (obviously with a new headunit)? I've got around £600 to do it. Not mega bucks but looking to upgrade in time!
Thanks if anyone can help!

for 600 UK you should have no trouble buying your equipment (tho, i'm not very familiar with UK pricing). HOWEVER, fiberglass installs like the ones you see in spare tire installs are spendy. If you don't know how to do fiberglass work yourself, then you have to pay somebody, labor is expensive, and fiberglass requires a lot of labor, and the materials aren't cheap either. In the US a Small Spare tire install done profressionally could easily cost $600 or more (JUST FOR THE BOX).

I would say to start out, just buy a regular sealed box, then throw a 10" or 12" sub in it, run a 300rms amp to it. And then buy a single set of speakers for the front, a small amp to power them 50x2 to 80x2 and call it good.

thanks guys! very helpful! Do you know how I download the yaris world PDF because it doesn't give me an option to , just to view it online. By the fibreglass mould, all I meant was just a little mould ovewr the spare tyre wheel! Not a proper showy thing. But any more help on just general books on how to do it really! Thanks again!
