here's Used Oil Analysis for SHELL 5w-30 : www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1247117&fpart=1 . I use the SHELL conventional 10w-30 for lawnmower :biggrin: . Wouldn't hestitate to use this for under 5,000 mile intervals while under warranty . Using SHELL full synthetic 5w-30 for now . Got 18 quarts of that for less than $4.30 a quart at BJs Wholesale which includes tax .

The previous OC in the Shell UOA was M1 0w-30 - the iron was 2x the Shell dino oil. I wonder if that was a winter interval?

I have a riteaid just 2 miles down the street from me - I'll check it out - but they usually don't carry the 5w-30:iono: Just 10w-40 and 10w-30:iono::cry:

some WALGREENS carry SHELL in the 5w-30 , they should honor RITE-AID price as long as you bring their ad with you . Also , some RITE-AIDs will let you have the PENNZOIL 5w-30 for the price of the SHELL if you ask management . They'll swipe price code on the bottle of SHELL motor oil for the number of PENNZOIL bottles you buy to get them for the $1.99 price . Both being S.O.P.U.S. and oil is a slow mover in their stores . Last , look at the date the bottle was manufactured , should be on bottom on the back of bottle .

Oh, crap, I just got laid off from work in Wilmington, MA. Now I guess I won't be grouchy in Wilmington anymore. Our last project was injection molding the hood components for the TESLA electric sports car out of Liquid crystal polymer. So if you see a Tesla, and the hood looks REALLY good with nice low wavyness, finish and form, think of me. Sorry for the Hijack - now I really NEED the shell oil, and GID great bargains!

weird...picking up oil at a drug-store.....oh well whatever works....and BTW wal-mart will honor all competitor coupons & advertisements ...just a thought if your rite-aid is out of stock....
