I purchased some new bulbs and for the life of me cannot get the current bulbs out. I am a mechanical dunce, though with some good instructions should be able to do about anything.

Any help or pointers would be amazing

I'll give you a real quick setup:

you have to remove/ lower the front bumper

- remove the push clips just above the grille behind the hood latch

- then go to each side of the car in the wheel well and there will be two or three of the same clips at the front edge of the well on the bumper REMOVE THEM

- pull out the bumper edge towards you (stand in front of the wheel well and pull)
(sounds like it's breaking but it isn't)
- repeat on both sides

- you will see the 'hidden' head light bolt remove that bolt and the other two on the top and side of the headlight housing

- wiggle the housing free and voila

those h4's are a biotch....

make sure your lights are off and even maybe that your battery is unplugged

you have to unplug them - - which i found actually requires a bit of wiggling of the bulb plug

then pull off the rubber condom

then there is a pinch clip that holds the bulb in place....it hinges on the bottom of the round spot where the bulb goes.....so youl pinch it in a horizontal direction vs vertical....id suggest doing whichever side of the car has the most room to see first so that you can do the second bulb w/o looking at it...

pull out the hold bulb carefully

*NOTE DO NOT TOUCH HALOGEN BULBS ON THE GLASS IT SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES THE LIFE OF THE BULB*

seat the new bulb in the same location/setup as the old one and make sure it sits flush to the headlight housing

put the pinch clip back on and make sure its secure by wiggilng the bulb a bit in its seat

put the rubber condom back on over the bulb end

plug 'er all back in and you should be good to go for headlight #2

hope that helps

thanks for the info guys
Shroomster.
I am not trying to remove the entire assembly, just the bulb.

Thebarber.
I tried for about an hour yesterday and wanted to kill things

You really have to take off the bumper? The manual just says to take off the fender lining.

you take off the bumper if you want to actually remove the headlight assembly -- one way to make plenty of room.

I've been able to change bulbs in place before, but I agree it's really not fun.

DANG. I tried this just by pulling off the fender lining. Man, I still haven't gotten it. Its very annoying.
