Benifits over the standard halogen bulb is, they will last much longer, be much brighter, and when using an HID kit, will be bright enough to actually match! (mine do  )

If interested, please PM me direct for PRICING!

The LED bulbs itself produce a brighter light, but the light is concentrated into a small beam and they reflect less, so overall they light less... very confusing.

Try to take pics of the lights at night (without flash as well) but remember to use a tripod for the camera to prevent fuzzy pics! hehehehe

1. The light projects 120 degrees, and when compared next to the stock bulb produce MUCH more light.

2. At night, with just the parking lights ON, the entire headlight housing is illuminated. If parked 10ft away from a wall, you can actually see the light cast on the wall. Not enough light to drive by, but plenty bright compared to the stock halogens.

3. I dont use a flash at night, and I always use a Tripod.

This post was to show an ALTERNATIVE to using COLORED bulbs that cast less light, and IMO look like shit when turned off (reflects blue color inside the housing). Besides, its a PARKING LIGHT for god sake, its not rocket science.

Thanks for your concern though.

These were designed, and then manufactured by a good friend of mine out in California.

those pics don't do justice. they actually look blue in the pics, which they are not. for example (i also did the led-194 route for the rear plate lighting):

^trust me, that's not the true color, it's pure white in person. i guess the camera can't really catch that... i'm doin replacement for every 194 bulb i see in the future.

if you can set the white balance on the license plate you will get the true color of the light in the shot. its probably not the camera its the photographer ;-)

Its a parking light. Has nothing to do with DRL's.

DRL's use your H4 headlight (high/low) beam bulb, and send a lower wattage to keep it on during the day, when headlights are off.

There is no specific seperate DRL light or bulb.

Correct for the 194, they are your parking lights.

DRLs on the other hand, come on when the cars running with headlights off..

You can follow my How_To about Disabling DRL's in the DIY section.

Just flipped on to the parking light position. I wonder if you guys could get away with them as DRL's - they are pretty bright. If you wired them up so they came on with the ignition switch, you could remove the DRL module.

They also look better than the PIAAs. The Piaas have two side-by-side LEDs:

DRL is part of your H4 high/low, has nothing to do with this parking light, nor is it a seperate light all its own.

IsLNdbOi
04-08-2007, 12:51 AM
How do you install them then?

I have the Yaris Service Manual that someone posted up some time ago and the instructions in it for getting to the parking lights say to remove the front bumper.

brickhardmeat
04-08-2007, 12:54 AM
Open your hood, twist and pull, then pull the old wedge out and pop the new one in, you may have to turn the new one if it does not light up (polarity), if you go out to your car and pop the hood and take a look I think it will become rather obvious, this is a 2 minute install

changing the actual h-4 bulbs is a pain for me and some prefer to remove the whole assembly for that but for these it is totally easy

brickhardmeat
04-08-2007, 12:59 AM
by the way the repair manual shows pictures and explains how to change every bulb in/on the car

http://www.etimago.com/yaris/repairmanual/

IsLNdbOi
04-08-2007, 01:04 AM
That's the same manual I have. It says you have to take the front bumper off to get to the parking lights.

page LI-97 says:

REMOVAL
HINT:
• Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.
• The procedure described below is for the LH side.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER (See page ET-24)
3. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 3 screws.
(b) Disconnect the 3 connectors, then remove the headlight.

brickhardmeat
04-08-2007, 01:08 AM
No you don't, not at all, you also don't have to disconnect the freaking battery. Do me a favor and go out to your car and change your damn bulbs. These are about as easy as it gets. Sometimes the manual gets a little carried away. I guess if you were a Toyota Tech and you did all that you could charge someone an hour for a 2 minute bulb change. :bellyroll:

brickhardmeat
04-08-2007, 01:10 AM

IsLNdbOi

Can you please explain how I remove the stock parking lights so I can install these HiLED LEDs?

Thank you.

brickhardmeat
04-08-2007, 01:23 AM
I can't explain it any better. Go out to your car and locate the bulb. You see where it is. Take a hold of the back of what is holding the bulb in the headlight. Turn counter clockwise to release. and pull back. Pull the old bulb out and push the new one in. Don't push down on the face of your new LED. Turn your headlight switch one click to make sure the new LED comes on. If it does not you need to pull it out turn it and replace. This is what I am talking about when I say (polarity). Now go do it.

You don't need shop class for this. This is no more complicated than a child proof cap.

IsLNdbOi
04-08-2007, 01:56 AM
Thanks. I assumed that they were somehow sealed in the headlight assembly. Got them changed out and they look great.

Yeah, usually before doing even simple things like this, I look around for manuals, etc. that give me a clue of how to do it. This case was no different. Looked at the manual first and saw something about having to take the front bumper off.

I guess I should start doing it the opposite way from now on. :p

Chris07LB
04-08-2007, 03:26 PM
No, you did right by looking into it first, but keep in mind, Toyota will make you think you need to do all those steps, just so you "think" you need to take it in, and have the dealer do it.

The manual though, does show just how easy it is to replace... Im talking about the manual in your glovebox, not a service manual.
