front seat removal/reinstall

Has anyone removed the drivers side front seat, including tracks mounted to the floor; purchased or made adapters to move the seat and tracks back a few inches, and then reinstalled the seat and track assembly? Not looking for a new or modified seat, just a few inches more leg room. TIA, Mark S.

Like you, I just wanted a couple more inches of leg room.

I pulled my driver-side seat out and hammered down the stops in the slides so they would go a little farther back.

I eventually realized that if I succeded, ball bearings would start falling out, so I reversed the process.

It looks like the only way to get those two inches is to remount the whole thing farther aft.

I often thought that I would like 2 more inches of leg room. Then the steering wheel would be too far away.
