i swear when i drive and i let go of the gas, the tranny jerks a bit.

and in lower speeds when i let go of the gas pedal right after acceleration the "jerk" is felt more with a "rev" sound

i've heard the yaris trannys weren't perfect........

are you in first gear when this happens? lol

i guess in low speeds it should be first gear. for example, lets say at red light, traffic starts moving, i start to accelerate, but car in front of me brakes 3 seconds later, i let go of brake, the tranny "jerks" a bit, with a low rev sound.

when going 60 and accelerating for example, and when i let go of pedal, the tranny "jerks" slightly(less felt compared to low speeds)

i have auto tranny

ahhhhhhhhhh, auto

its likely a combonation of ATX and a drive-by-wire throttle

i get a similar thing w/ the aveo if im on/off w/ the gas....in find w/ dbw throttle you gotta be smooth with it....cus if i give it some push at 60mph then let off suddenly it feels jerky too.....

smooooooth

granted, even if it was dbc, you should be smooth otherwise itll be kinda jerky if you stab the throttle inputs

The auto's do an auto downshift when the brake is applied and you are slowing down. Works great for holding it back on a hill while decending. It is a similar reason you can not feel the transmission in 4th until the engine reaches operating temperature.

Quit listening to rumors..... Yaris has a good transmission. Learn to worry about important things like California falling into the ocean, black helicopters and UFO's landing in the parks at night! Just kidding about the UFO's........

I don't know if trannys jerk or not, I like girls.

Seriously, there will be some feelings of shift when the engine temps reach 140 fahr and when DFCO kicks in.
