I installed NST's SSK, SSK2, shifter bushing kit, and cage bushing kit on my Yaris. It can all be viewed on my Web site:

Review and Installation: NST short shifter and bushing kits:

Direct link to the installation:

In short, anyone thinking about buying these products will not be disappointed. The installation is easy and the results are amazing. The shifter now feels like it was lifted from a high-end sports car. Very nice product, NST!

Nice writeup, 39!
I have the cable bushings and the SSK-1 and love the new feel... I'm still debating whether I should go all the way and get the cage bushings and SSK-2

wow awesome review... was wondering what those bushing kits were for exactly... I just installed the SSK for the engine bay yesterday and it is really nice! If bushing kits and the other SSK are good as you say, those might be one of my next mods...

They really are. I've had short shifters in about five different vehicles (two Hondas, a Scion, and a Nissan), and the NST components are definitely the nicest I've had.

It's also my understanding that the main reason Toyota used the rubber parts it to lessen the enging feeling in the shifter, but for sports car i think it's a benefit to feel it... Do you feel the engine better? or is the vibration distracting or annoying?

No more vibration than stock.

I have the SSK1 an thinking about changing all the bushings, but its so short now, how short is it gonna be with the SSk2?
like i said before the SSk1 feels like a lot more then 30% less throw... but im loving it :D

Just an FYI: After driving with the NST drivetrain products for a month I will have to say it's still great!

One thing, these products will make it hard to drive any other car without thinking "this thing really needs a short shifter!"
