While I was at Melbourne Airport waiting to come over to the USA I watched an A380 Airbus land on the runway and pull up to the gate next to mine. I got all excited and was hoping that we were going to fly on the new plane as I know the A380 flies from Melbourne to LA.

Turns out it was going to Sydney then onto LA, we took a 747. Anyway while the plane was there I noticed a white Yaris near it and took some photos. The Yaris is not even the size of one of the planes engines.

Hope you enjoy these.

I think the Yaris is there to push the plane out of the gate.

You wouldn't want to be in Melbourne right now - they are having a heatwave and it is 40 plus degrees or 110 plus farenheit!

I've also spotted Hong Kong's airport using Yaris as getabout vehicles on the apron.

What's so big? It's probably a 1.5 liter............ oh the jet... that engine alone is

Length: 4.55 m (179 in)
Diameter: 2.94 m (116 in) fan tip
Dry weight: 6,271 kg (13,830 lb)

That's funny, when we landed in Münich earlier this month I thought I saw Yarii on the ramp; but they turned out to be Opels! Looked very similar...

Cool photos though, thanks for posting them!

Cheers! M2

i would be afraid to drive that yaris too close to the engine if it was on! great shots - you don't mind if i use one of them as a screensaver?

Riddle: How many Yarii can you fit into 1 Airbus engine? 2? Maybe 3?

Q: Why did the Yaris cross the runway?
A: An A380 was landing.
