Hi
I have a 1.3 LTR 5 dr yaris and want to ask some of your opinions, i know one can get a hi-flow replacement airfilter from K&N to fit in the factory airbox , but is that enough to get max performance , i mean to get a ram-air tube to the bumper or to an open air duct is a mission and as it is the standard airbox hardly gets any good clean air flow.
so what to do??
A friend of mine ran a air pipe down for his RUNX and said he got better performance feel without the extra air intake, so what to do???
Any ideas??

One of my friends advised me to throw away the air filter box and to install a tube which will get some air from the front right lower part of the front bumper.

so u say the k&n filter didnt do anything??not even a bit of sound?is that the in box standard replacement air filter?
i say the TRD filter setup , and it fits into the engine bay with no downpipe to the bumper, so if they dont develop one , then it cant make a difference putting one in.. do i make sense??
and did the k&n filter give u a better throttle respone

Put in a K&N Filter and remove the silencer. It sounds alot better and a little bit of increased flow.

In my opinion it's a waste of money. The sound became dipper, but it costed me 80euros +20 euros for the cleaning kit.

Are you talking about the silencer that guides the air into the air box?It is a mistake to take it out, because it will allow all the hot air from the engine directly into the airbox.

no it wont it filters the air the same as an ordinary airbox but it takes in more air which allows probably 1-2 bhp more and has a sporty sound

Yeah but are we talking about this plastic tube that guides the air into the airbox?
In addition, it won't allow more air in, as the opening of the airbox(on which the tube is connected) is also small.So...
