Yeah, and the Smart ForTwo needs premium unleaded gas; plus, good luck trying to find one for $11,990 - $16,990!

The Civiv GX runs on natural gas, and costs $25,190. That's ten grand more than I paid for my Yaris!

A Prius isn't much cheaper at $22,000 - $24,270; plus I just can't stand those cars! For one, the nickel batteries are bad for the environment and I also hate the smugness of Prius owners...one of these days I am going to run one over with my Jeep!

The bottom line is the Yaris is the highest ranking car on that list that I wouldn't be embarassed to drive!

Cheers! M2

It's green-wise right? Less emission?
If it's car's cost, fuel economy, usefulness, and etc, then Yaris is still #1 to me.
That's why I bought it :)

Yeah, I read that the Smart car uses premium gas. Why not just unleaded for an engine that is not so dynamic.

The smart/Mitsubishi 3 cylinder is a hi compression engine and will run on regular but not so well. Yes you can buy them cheap. Mine would have been $12,500 with A/C and stereo/CD/mp3. The smarts avg around 40-41 mpg on 90 octane. I get 38 avg with 87. The smart is really half a car, too, so I'd say the Yaris has it beat.
