For those of you that have installed various aftermarket headers (Megan Racing, DC Sports, eBay, etc.):

Did you notice any low-end loss of power? Did you experience any gain? I would like some simple feedback from real-life users. I'm not interested in the "which header is better" on this particular thread.

Thanks

Mine seems to bog more during low rpm's. But is fine throughout the mid range, but seems to have more power in the high range.
This is generaly the trend that most people talk about when they get their header installed...
Mine is a Megan Racing Header.

Only person who could have a different response as a whole would be Mr. Holdener.

I have the megan as well and I noticed no difference other than sound. It was the first mod I made. I added the NST and now I honestly don't know what use the header is.

header REALLY opened up my mid and upper range but i wouldn't say it BOGGED in the low. my THUNDER street header is complimented by a TRD cold air intake and a TRD jdm vitz muffler........

I like the feel of the WR header. Low-end for me is from about 1500 rpm to 2500 rpm, and I feel no loss there at all. Leaving stop lights the car feels pretty good and quick, though I also have lost a bit of weight.

I have a simota carbon box and a thermal axle-back.

The DC header gave a slight improvement on the low end and a marked improvement from mid-range up. Definitely no loss.

same for the megan. No problems for me!

Thunder Sport Header: Slightly louder exhaust note at idle, lost what felt like a small amount of power at low RPM's but midrange improved significantly (50-90mph range)

Lol, 50mph is top end second gear. Or, could be SUPER low end 5th gear.

The street header is designed to give as much in the mid-range as possible along with being perhaps slightly quieter. I've never heard them side-by-side
though.
Overall I doubt there is more than 1whp difference between them.

wr: low to mid-range gain...
dc: mid to high-range gain...
didn't notice any loss!

Megan header...your old one in fact. I thought I felt an improvement in the mid-range with no loss in the low end but who really knows.

I have the DC header; power feels about the same till around 3500rpm, but there is a noticeable improvement from there on up, especially from 5000rpm to redline. I can see how people who don't rev that high feel like it doesn't make a difference.

i would agree with him ... the weapon r header has some decent low end gains

I agree. I found the same to be true with my DC header experience.
